Well if the reports that Fordow was attacked are true, it makes sense that Iron Dome is deployed in the north.

The Iranian regime would probably come to the conclusion that covert retaliation through Hezbollah is better than overt direct state retaliation, at least that way they spare their country from annihilation and the regimes inevitable demise.

Lets not forget the secrecy from all sides in relation to the alleged 2007 Israeli attack on Syrias nuclear reactor as an example how both sides cover things up to prevent all out war.
