Re: Watching MSNBC right now: prescription drug users to require out of pocket for every purchase
I just read the post about aiming not to be on prescription medications. How do I maintain my transplanted kidney (due to genetic kidney disease, not alcohol or drugs,) without my anti-rejection medications? Huh? I worked and paid taxes in this country (also working for the US Government, Postal Service many years.) I guess it's good-bye Grandma, right? I had my 61st birthday less than a month ago..I'm expendable, right?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33090208

Who did you vote for in 2008 and 2012?
 Quoting: Professor Xavier

McCain (2004) Obama (2008) Romney (2012)

Believe me, I fealt quite like a dufus for the last 4 years. :(
 Quoting: CE Aero

So the truth is you voted for a socialist, racist muzzie in 2008, and now you are reaping that hope and change. What did you expect, free gas, free rent, free phone, free car, free money, free food, free drugs? How did that work out for you??
 Quoting: Desert Fox

Only a purely socialistic healthcare system, with no big corporations pulling the strings, is humane. But it won't happen in this world...any time soon...

So comrade, what is the motivation that drives individuals to develop newer and better drugs? Can't be profits. Can't even be building the share price of corporations, because your retardocracy eliminates both.

What government school did you get your brainwashing from?
 Quoting: Professor Xavier

Prof X,

Newer and better drugs? Probably 95% of these drugs are not necessary and end up doing MUCH more harm than good. I could give countless examples, as many others here could, as well...

For-profit healthcare is among the USA's greatest jokes and evils. Marketers make the sheeple believe it's the world's best thing since the wheel's invention...
 Quoting: Unc Al 33147510

Let's assume your 95% statistic is correct (which it isn't).

How do you propose socialism motivates people to develop that 5%?

When I saw on TV what Obummer's aids did to Joe the Plumber for asking one honest American question, I got off the couch for and registered to vote against Obummer. It was the first time I voted since Regan's first term 36 years.

With a socialistic system, the main goal would be to keep people well so they wouldn't need so damn much healthcare. Preventative meds and ones that really work would be developed and used.

In the USA, meds often cause a multitude of side-effects that require more meds and more $$$$ into that for-profit system.

Do you actually believe that a CEO, whose main goal is making more money, wants to see you with good health? Please, prof X - it's reality time.

Granted, well run socialistic systems are very rare, but even the worst of them can beat the USA, which is why more and more people go abroad for care...

By the way, since this is a pro-gun site, the designer of the world's most popular gun, Kalashnikov, was paid tiny wages for his development. Many great inventions in all kinds of industries took place in Soviet Russia, for example...even without dishing out large paychecks to people.

And while I don't have much experience visiting doctors, the one I saw in Russia, for free when I lived there, spent more time with me than the over-paid docs in the USA...

So the more aid you get, the more you would pay, I think, I really don't know. However, I don't believe anyone would get away "scott free" anymore with them buckling down on co-pay requirements from everyone.

If you take prescription meds in the US you are essentially a beta tester anyway. Avoid that shit if you can. If not insist on time tested meds. They are cheaper anway so maybe your OOP would be less. Avoid the 'drug du jour' at all costs.

What the man just said on T.V. is that Obamacare is going to require out of pocket payment for every prescription drug obtained. The amount is based on social security number and level of aid.

Now it breaks to commercial.

Hrm, anyone else catch that? I take two now, a thyroid and sleeping one.
