With a socialistic system, the main goal would be to keep people well so they wouldn't need so damn much healthcare. Preventative meds and ones that really work would be developed and used.

In the USA, meds often cause a multitude of side-effects that require more meds and more $$$$ into that for-profit system.

Do you actually believe that a CEO, whose main goal is making more money, wants to see you with good health? Please, prof X - it's reality time.

Granted, well run socialistic systems are very rare, but even the worst of them can beat the USA, which is why more and more people go abroad for care...

By the way, since this is a pro-gun site, the designer of the world's most popular gun, Kalashnikov, was paid tiny wages for his development. Many great inventions in all kinds of industries took place in Soviet Russia, for example...even without dishing out large paychecks to people.

And while I don't have much experience visiting doctors, the one I saw in Russia, for free when I lived there, spent more time with me than the over-paid docs in the USA...

So the more aid you get, the more you would pay, I think, I really don't know. However, I don't believe anyone would get away "scott free" anymore with them buckling down on co-pay requirements from everyone.

Hmm ... out of pocket for every Rx purchase is what is called CO-PAY. People must take a stupid pill when something old gets called something new.

The requirement is being applied to everyone now with obamacare.

If you take prescription meds in the US you are essentially a beta tester anyway. Avoid that shit if you can. If not insist on time tested meds. They are cheaper anway so maybe your OOP would be less. Avoid the 'drug du jour' at all costs.

Yea, amongst the duties of being a soldier, 2 weeks in the field, 2 weeks out of the field (prior to deployment) ad nauseum or how about the fact I listened to 4 of his speeches from fox news web app and had to make a decision then and there...we were told we have 1 month to cast our over seas ballot.
