From the beginning he would word things so that you would question yourself and your convictions of right and wrong *Gods true word*.
When they speak and say the majority back him, even though it is a lie and you know it is a lie... back in your mind the worm tickles something, that maybe you are the weird one when everyone else *presumably because they say so* agrees with him/them.
You then doubt yourself either do to a spiritual weakness or want, or from conditioning.
