"the confirmed stats are beyond questioning" indeed! Unfortunatelly you are talking about things that you have never seen and researched! If you would have bothered to check this Thread: The anti-smoking conspircy
you would have seen medical statistics showing inverse correlations between lung cancer rates and smoking rates in many countries.
The sooner the smoking of tobacco ends the better off the world will be. I am talking about the blood of my family..three good people dead before their time because of the tobacco industry.
The smoking/lung cancer correlation is at stronger than the link between asbestos and mesothelioma.
So in relation to your position I say again:
It's not the nicotine...it's the 1000s of chemicals the major manufacturers add to their smokes...
About the 4,000 chemicals found in cigarettes:
One day, I decided to find the web site and start looking up each and every one of these chemicals. Well, I got through the D's, alphabetically. That took almost 3 hours, and I reached my limit. So how many people actually do this, and what can you learn from it? As you can imagine, it took a long time to do a search on each chemical, to see what it was, how it was used, and in what other products it was used.
Well, you may think you are doing a great thing by not smoking. But if you do the above exercise, you will find out that the same chemicals in cigarettes are also the same chemicals and preservatives and additives you will find in your processed food, hair and personal care products, cleaning products, and everything else our wonderful corporations manufacture to make our lives more pleasant.
So next time you are saying to a smoker "Did you know there are over 4,000 chemicals in that cancer stick you are smoking?", do a little research before hand and find out whether you are being the pot calling the kettle black. You are likely just as guilty of consuming those same 4,000 chemicals, without knowing it.
We are given so little real information or facts, just headlines and propagandas that we believe whatever authorities and the media tells us, without doing any research. This whole cigarette thing has gone in 360-degree circles over the past 100 years, from doctors advocating it, to society demonizing it. Don't you think maybe there is more to the story?
Personally, anytime the FDA or CDC or WHO says something is bad for you, I tend to think it is probably good, and vice versa. Raw Milk: Bad! Pasteurized Milk: Good! Eggs: Bad! No, wait, eggs good! Wheat: Good! No, wait, wheat bad!
Keep believing what they shovel at you and keep being jerked around, or start thinking for yourself and really researching. But recognize that most studies nowadays are just shams, just propaganda. You really have to dig, because search engines will filter results, and list mostly what authorities and officials want people to believe. You will need to re-word your query many, many times to start getting articles of true facts rather than propaganda.
