Not a really important thread but my grocery store is going crazy | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1550123 United States 01/27/2013 07:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just left there....big chain grocery store always busy but the clerk said that yesterday and today has been nothing like they have ever seen before. The shelves have some serious caves in the contents. Quoting: SwingAway Clerk said yesterday was just awful. Hey,,,,,,,,this is not Christmas or Thanksgiving. This is the last week of January. The amount of business at the store is way more than what I saw all through the holiday seasons...and I pretty much go there ever couple of days. Yes, I know superbowl is next week end but it is not superbowl muchies that formed the empty places on the shelves.....it things like beans, etc. Have you notice a serious uptick in business and fullness of carts at your local grocery stores? Going to my local grocery store tonight was like going into a whirlwind. Do you suppose that with all the hype that is going on around us that peo0ple might be getting a clue about the necessity of stocking up............???????????? Had any bad winter weather or threats of bad weather? Maybe folks just stocking up just in case. |

She states ya, its getting crazy like that lately. Long lines to get checked in with even longer lines to check out with the meds. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 28232375 United States 01/27/2013 07:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yesterday I was at the grocery store and the place was packed, shelves had lots of empty space, people had huge carts full of stuff. It seemed odd. Sacramento has about one third of its workforce in government, and they get paid only once a month around the first. The end of the month is usually a good time to go to the store if you don't want to face crowds, as one third of the adults are waiting for their next paycheck to hit their account. But yesterday it was packed! Very unusual around here.... |

Management and I are friendly and they know me. Most of the clerks know me and I kinda keep my finger on the pulse of the store so to speak. The big "case lot sale" was two weeks ago so it isn't that either. There are literally no sparking spaces available lately. The clerk said they just restocked everything last night fully so the empty spaces were all made just today alone. I think personally that local people are getting a clue to the dire situation that is at the door. Perhaps they are more savey out my way about the news and keeping up with what all is going on. My city is predominately republican so maybe that too has something to do with it. Maybe people around here are having a mass awakening. Who knows. But.........all I can report is what I see and it would be wise I think to take note and take action. When the herd moves one should always be one step ahead of it. |

What are your thoughts? |

It could be, probably is, more about this within the population at large, but my personal instinctual concern is a solar event that will knock out the power grid.
