Not a really important thread but my grocery store is going crazy

Had any bad winter weather or threats of bad weather? Maybe folks just stocking up just in case.

I don't get out much anymo but when I was over at the pharmacy to get my perscrips I remarked to the lady who checks you in so you can get in line to wait for the meds how lately it seemed more people than ever are getting medications with the long lines and all.

She states ya, its getting crazy like that lately.

Long lines to get checked in with even longer lines to check out with the meds.

Yesterday I was at the grocery store and the place was packed, shelves had lots of empty space, people had huge carts full of stuff. It seemed odd. Sacramento has about one third of its workforce in government, and they get paid only once a month around the first. The end of the month is usually a good time to go to the store if you don't want to face crowds, as one third of the adults are waiting for their next paycheck to hit their account. But yesterday it was packed! Very unusual around here....

Hmmm, grocery store here in Oregon are business as usual. Plenty of stuff to buy, not much lines.

I've backed up my clean water stores (and am looking to get more), and have also been thinking about getting some canned foods for back up, too. More seeds for sprouting, also...just the price of lettuce has me sprouting, much less a worse case scenario for reason.

Now, outside of ever having an appropriate bug out bag for hurricane season,I've not ever really busied myself with being a prepper.

Whereas instinct has never dictated that I may actually need some reserves, it now does.

I am one of those people that goes to my local grocery store very often....sometimes every day. Management and I are friendly and they know me. Most of the clerks know me
and I kinda keep my finger on the pulse of the store so to speak.

The big "case lot sale" was two weeks ago so it isn't that either.

There are literally no sparking spaces available lately.

The clerk said they just restocked everything last night fully so the empty spaces were all made just today alone.

I think personally that local people are getting a clue to the dire situation that is at the door.

Perhaps they are more savey out my way about the news and keeping up with what all is going on.

My city is predominately republican so maybe that too has something to do with it.

Maybe people around here are having a mass awakening.

Who knows.

But.........all I can report is what I see and it would be wise I think to take note and take action.

When the herd moves one should always be one step ahead of it.

BTW.....this is NOT a walmart store....but a chain just as large and just as productive and is all across the nation.

Probably has something to do with Obama pushing for gun control. People expect riots and riots will ensure.

This may be a stretch but I am thinking that if people are keeping up with all the info about restrictions coming on personal freedoms..........

and the many and much info out there that there is no ammo,
no reload supplies.......

well, it is just my guess that they are getting an idea that there soon may be NOT FOOD.

No.......not safeway.

It is Kroger/Smiths and they have other names that they go by.

My Smiths is having a RUSH.

The meat department tells me all the time they literally can't keep up with the buyers....holes in the meats too.

It's starting...just look at all the things going on....

It could be, probably is, more about this within the population at large, but my personal instinctual concern is a solar event that will knock out the power grid.

Either way, preparedness will matter.

We are up against so many different streams of possibilites...it would be only PRUDENT to prepare in all your ways and that includes food.

Once they start prining money and flood the market with empty valueless dollars what you can get for .49 cents today .........tomorrow will cost $10

go out and spend your last dollar and your last dollar on your credit card and stock up on more food.

This kind of thing..............

as you saw with how fast guns and ammo dried up once the "run" started........

it will X100 WORSE WHEN THE HERD RUNS ON FOOD.

GET IT NOW WHILE IT IS STILL RELATIVELY CHEAP AND AVAILABLE.

My bank BB&T ran out of cash at lunchtime on Friday. I had to wait to cash a check. Teller said she had NEVER seen such a rush for cash in her 40 years.

Interesting, today our Wal-Mart & Aldi's were packed and shelves bare. Very Strange for this time of the month. I had made the comment to my Wife at both stores while standing in huge lines.

This is a bad omen for the future but a good omen for people that are awake that they may go out in their own area and prep up more...having heard this and having a little more time.
