The government does not have Agency's like FEMA to help people by giving them food during a disaster.


They have these Agency's to keep the masses pacified during a Disaster.


Do you understand the Difference ?


See the government cant feed and clothe a bunch of Transients.

They know that they will all become looters.


Look at the great depression as your example, people who "Bugged Out" but have no where to go were called Transients.

They kind of wandered around looking for a place where they could get a meal. Soup Lines or begging.


But the other kind of people were Self Sustainable. They were farmers who could raise their own livestock and feed.


Sometimes a farmer could take in transients for work. But they could not take them all in, because they cant feed them all.


The transients wanted to be treated like normal citizens. Basically they wanted jobs and to be treated like the farmers.


They should have just started their own homesteads instead of wandering around from Soup line to Soup line. Some of them did that, but most people dont know how to do it so they didnt.

Because their skills were not like those of an independent individual. They had very specialized skills that were not needed after a depression. What really was needed was for them to pickup a shovel and start to work the ground.


During hard time you have to live off the fat of the land.


And that does NOT mean foraging for bugs and vegetables.
