Your skin has an acid mantle that is pH balanced and acts as a barrier. It cleans, exfoliates, and moisturizes itself. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to fuck with it.
I had sub derm and rosacea for a year and a half before I linked it to meeting my exbf and taking on his OCD, head to toe scrubbing and daily shampooing techniques. Before I met him, my skin was flawless and I never washed my face, and rarely my hair. Not even with water, because I hated the way it felt. (unless i got mud on it or something)
I went back to showering every other day, only using soap on my unmentionables, washing my hair biweekly and not touching my face, with anything. My skin completely repaired itself and is once again flawless. And I had rosacea badly, it was diagnosed. I could write a novel about the shit I tried, including drinking borax and hydrogen peroxide.
There is a theory that all these skin conditions are linked, different responses to the same underlying issue. I personally believe its overwashing. Try not fucking with your skin for 2 weeks and see if it starts clearing up.
Edited to add: I believe the Vitamin D thing plays into it also. I have read multiple times that it takes up to 48 hours for your skin to form Vitamin D after sunlight exposure, and it also cant form Vitamin D without the proper skin flora. You would lack both of these requirements if you are continuously stripping your skin - just a thought.
Quoting: BossBitch Never? How do you get rid of eye/earshit etc.? Do you do facial?
