Yes, yet another country where the Arab Spring has brought real change. Probably change that the people didn't want! I can see things in Egypt really deteriorating throughout the rest of 2013. I can also see their tourism industry collapsing if things continue. "If we don't end war, war will end us" H. G. Wells |

On the ground have things got better or worse since Mubarak was overthrown? I don't think so, he's up there with the others laying low, vying with those who you've traded your life to to bless your soul, |

I haven't seen details on any? I wonder, because in lybia, syria, tunesia, it was emphasized which group was doing the killing and how, in order to create the good vs evil game constantly(assad, moubarak<>peacefull protesters). In the case of Egypt, the press seems muted. |

At least 19 women were severely sexually assaulted or raped in Cairo’s Tahrir Square during the second anniversary of Egypt’s uprising, in what rights groups say was the highest reported toll in the country in two years. I know it's their right, but i'm hearing too much of these stories lately. Is it safe to go or not in your opinion? I too don't think that everyone is a raper btw, bad fruits everywhere, but you believe these are not random acts? Any raping conspiracy behind this? I too don't think that everyone is a raper btw, bad fruits everywhere, but you believe these are not random acts? Any raping conspiracy behind this? Oh, I for sure believe there's something or someone behind it, although I can't begin to say who as there are so many with a vested interest in chaos and confusion to speculate. You'd have to understand how Egyptians, as a whole (and I hate to paint any group with a wide brush, but sometimes it fits) are mortified at the thought of making a social faux pax because "somebody" might see them. Sure, a lot of shit goes on behind closed doors. But out in plain view - particularly when cameras are everywhere and in the age of face book pictures/videos? No way. |

True what you say, also the so called killings of protesters and live shots - yesterday I heard from someone that kids on motorcycles started shooting at that funeral procession. Yet they blame police and Morsi!? Sounds like a all too familiar scenario to me. State of emergency at the 3 Canal Cities sounds like the only way to protect Egypt at this point. And the Opposition now once again rejecting calls for Dialogue, like that's going to get us anywhere except into more conflict and chaos. Sad days :( |

Quoting: insertfunnyusername I don't go out at night because of the lack of police protection and rise in crime in general. To answer your question about the rise in sexual violence in mob crowds/at protests, I would say the change is because it's a tool that works. |
