Wrong, animals dont believe in anything, yet they all have their own purpose of life, some is to protect and feed their queen, some is to gather honey... they dont believe in anything other than their purpose of life. the purpose of life for humans is to reproduce and build society and technologies to keep our race going and going for as long as possible. Religion is the belief of a god. there can be evil religions too. however no religion is correct. Atheism is not a religion, it is the opposite of a religion. i am not even a athiest anyway, i would love it if the Afterlife was real, but i hate religion. i know Astral Projection is real and it has nothing to do with religion so i believe that. christianity even stole it, nearly all religions talk of astral projection but they put it into their own words, aka they stole it

Here is one of the definitions:

a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

It doesn't have to involve superhuman tendencies.

Atheism is a religion because it is a belief and not a given fact. Simple as that. If you can't even figure that out, then I guess you really don't have a purpose at all.

OP, the point that's being driven home here is that the world is full of shared beliefs that you can choose to adhere to...or not. Your mind is just so use to connecting God to religion that you're not seeing the point. Someday you may end up being in direct awareness of the creator of this universe and if that happens you can then throw out any and all shared beliefs as instead you will be having not only direct experience but also direct relationship (no middleman whatsoever).
