Sounds like a plan but if nobody can buy afford to buy except Arabs, it's retarded.

Why?
3/4 of the US population is on aide, and nobody invades to support the existing welfare state.
It was only the US that stopped exterminating its wartime enemies, and I suspect that the old ways and traditions of conquest will be coming back soon

If china does that before their currency goes down the toilet like the ar they will become leagues ahead of everyone.

They've been buying gold like there's no tomorrow since 2009...even with huge price inflation during that time period...

There has been rampant speculation that they would eventually do this, but for their Media to announce it...that's a signal in an of itself...nothing comes out of their media that they don't want coming out of their media...

What happens when all of those people/governments outside the U.S. decide to trade in their old reserve currency? All of their dollars will suddenly be competing with our dollars for the same quantity of goods & services. Is this not the very definition of hyperinflation?

Unless...........

The U.S. is still the largest (on paper at least) holder of Gold Bullion. It may just force the U.S. to go back to the gold standard in order to compete (dominate). There is still the item of no official accounting of our gold supply.
But, as long as we can say that we have more gold backing our dollar than anyone else, we still remain the fiat currency of the world.

This brings up a whole plethora of questions about what happens next in PM markets, stock market, and the economy.

I'm not smart enough to know how the shock waves would affect everyting, but, people should start thinking about what the net effect(s) will be, because that is the first response the U.S. will make.

Well that's inflation at a bare minimum...hyperinflation is the loss of confidence in a currency, which would happen pretty quickly in this situtation I think...

Thereby giving Japan, Europe, and the USA impetus to re-back their fiat currencies and make an agreement with the BRICS to peg all the currencies together...

Problem is, everything we now own is valued in fiat federal reserve notes...and they're going to have to pull a lot of that out of circulation...so, while I'm sure they will be apologetic about it, we'll have to trade in $200 old for $100 new or something to that equivelent...

The only difference is, that the Nation of Israel was a fairly cohesive unit. They had a national identity and believed in the perpetuation of the Nation. Every single soul was important.

I don't think the "controllers" of China give a rip about their people and the perpetuation of their tribe. It's all about the perpetuation of the ideal. Which Is? Anyone want to take a stab at it?

I agree to some extent, I think everything that happens will be planned out to the letter, but, here are some considerations to your theory...

The U.S. share of Chinese exports has already been shrinking every year since 2009.

The amount of debt the Chinese hold in the USA has gone down by over 200 Billion since 2010.

The debt held by the Chinese in the USA is now weighted heavily to short term debt of 1 to 3 years...

China has gone from being the biggest holder of US debt to 3rd behind Japan and the Federal Reserve itself...

China has been moving towards a more export independent economy by enriching their own people and moving them into a consumer based culture...

China has now stocked up on a reported three years worth of rice and other essential commodities...

If you take into account the bonds that China defaulted on after WWII to U.S. Bondholders...the U.S. actually owns more debt of China, than China owns of the U.S...

China has been laying the groundwork for this for some years now, and last November's summit created a trading group in SE Asia that not only leaves out the United States, they didn't let Barry go to their conferences.

Australia and Japan are both IN, US and dollar are out.

This has been discussed here and about before, but here:

[link to www.atimes.com]

(snip - everyone in the USA needs to read this whole article at link)

"It is symptomatic of the national condition of the United States that the worst humiliation ever suffered by it as a nation, and by a US president personally, passed almost without comment last week. I refer to the November 20 announcement at a summit meeting in Phnom Penh that 15 Asian nations, comprising half the world's population, would form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership excluding the United States.

President Barack Obama attended the summit to sell a US-based Trans-Pacific Partnership excluding China. He didn't. The American led-partnership became a party to which no-one came.

Instead, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, plus China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, will form a club and leave out the United States."
***
This is not projected, it is done. The Chinese have alredy set up markets where a Vietnamese farmer can get Chinese yuan with which to purchase supplies from many other countries INCLUDING India, Russia, Japan and Australia. At no time need he use dollars. The Germans are also using yuan directly, to borrow and sell.

It's all over but the internal strife here in the USA as the 90% or so who don't pay attention suddenly realize what's happened. The announced gold backing has been expected for years, since China announced their huge purchases of bullion.

Hang on to your hats, guys. It's not COMING - it's already happening.

Think about it and many other things make much more sense.

It is a my dad > than your dad thingy. Our pile of gold is bigger than your pile.

This is just another step toward "people" realizing that gold isn't really worth anything.

You know, I would have thought that diamonds would have already become worthless, but people are still dying to have more or bigger diamonds than someone else.

There are so many vaults full of diamonds that have never seen the light of day, that you could pave roads with them, but people still "value" them. People are so funny.

So does this mean that the Chinese Yuan a safe haven for American dollars?

Or will it be a new Chinese currency?

Any thoughts?

I don't think it is a simple easy matter to buy Chinese yuan --you can, but not as easy as buying other foreign currency.

There's a difference.
Your dad doesnt have any gold, that's the difference,
the largest holder of gold is a multinational private banking system run for profit.
It's not only the gold, it's the capacity of the population to generate revenue.
The US doesnt even generate enough gross to cover it's debts.
that means it's dead, economically, and there is no prospect for anything better.
