You clearly have not read Capital and haven't a clue. For one, Marx contemplated a modern world with no religion. Islam is a peasant based fuedal system and as far from modernity as you can get. Marx characterised capitalism as a radical system that uplifts the world from the hereditary privilege of fuedal orders to meritocracy. Islam is centred aroung an Arab elite and is essentially a religion based and land based empire.

The Soviet intelligensia realised that they jumped the gun in foisting communism on a peasant society. Capitalism will globalise, dragging the last parochial barbarian into modernity as it establishes itself and it will then run its course. No one can bring it down as long as it has capacity to expand. The current unrest in the Arab empire exemplifies their own struggle as capitalism forces them to adapt to the demands of modernity.

Capitalism has many decades yet. Anyone who suggest otherwise is a fool. Anyone who suggests that peasant based Islam has the capacity to lead capitalism is also a fool.

America being the first republican merit based society in the world will continue to lead the world till the end of the age of capital....America's meritocracy essentially embodies the core elements of modernity. The fact that you now have a black president also suggests that your social economy is reaching maturity.

If anything, countries such as China are rising in America's image. Of course, Britan has an organic role in all of this, being the driver of the imperialism that took modernity and capital to the far corners of the globe. However, it is in America that British modernity reached its zenith.

So these sorts of alarmism is pretty much based on mumbo jumbo.

In the same way that class did. In America, class was replaced by merit. Merit is the basis of capitalism. Hereditary privilege based on class, gender, religion or race is invariably feudal. The last remnants of feudalism (race based) are working their way through America. Merit is an essential function of an open market. Likewise, the rest of the world will follow suit.

This is an objective process driven by critical mass. In other words, more and more these days, the merit based elite running the system crosses all the old divisions and it is their sheer numbers that drive the system to expand.

Even those with barbaric preferences...who engage with the system...are overwhelmed.

So in other words, the age of particular priveleges is coming to an end. Privilege in capital is based on ability and that will increasingly become the norm. Those who lack the ability to engage with capital will fall by the wayside. That is not to say that they do not matter or are lesser for it. However, capitalism has its own logic and rules.

These are examples of barbarism. In the early days of America, the common call of the then elite in Europe was to exterminate the serf. Feudal society was also misogynistic. With the rise in colonialism, the new divide was at race. As post colonialism makes way for globalism, merit will rise to the fore. Of course, these remaining barbaric impulses evident in all corners of this globe will be with us for a while yet.
