I think one of the problems has been the way science is so specialized, with a lot of detailed knowledge about one specific area, but without scientists who are generalists.
To analyze what is happening with the climate, a scientist would have to know some meteorology, some astronomy, physics,
chemistry, even probably geology.

There is no denying that the trend in global temperatures has been rising. You can intentionally misinterpret the various graphs in a lot of ways, the most common is for deniers to selectively look at particular dates to try and find a 'cooling trend' of which there are many, but overall, there isn't a way to deny or ignore that global temperatures are rising, this isn't a grand conspiracy, it is simple fucking math, and if you don't get it, then I feel bad for you, because you have been manipulated.

I'm not sure what the big deal is about people trying to disprove or debunk global warming. Pollution is bad, it's harmful for everything around us. It's toxic, it's killing species of animals and plants, it's killing me and killing you. There is absolutely no reason why people should not be doing everything in their power to reduce their carbon print. With today's technology, natural gas, oil, nuclear energy and coal should be completely obsolete. The temps were much warmer this last year than before, and have been getting warmer every year. But even if they weren't, it doesn't matter because you don't need oil or natural gas, etc etc anymore. Yeah, it was great before, but it's 2013 now. We don't need it anymore.

So when I look at the footprint from coal plants in TN, KY you can see the acid rain and the death of the forest "down wind" for all of these plants.

My question is that the technology is there why not use it and take care of this place. Billions more people will follow us and we need to leave a usable environment.
