I'm considering Pantheism, what should I know?
Hi GLP! I'm considering becoming a pantheist. I am an atheist who believes that we should be always ready to change our beliefs based on evidence. I'm tolerant of others from all walks of life.
I don't like what religion does, yet I do like the idea of atheistic respect for nature and preservation.
Should I be considering Pantheism. Is there stuff that I should know?
What is the thing about vibrations? Because I really don't understand it.
Does it mean taking on strange or not science backed beliefs? What are they? Why should they be considered?
Thank you for any help you give.

You'd have to embrace potsism and skilletism.

You should possibly even fork (get it) out to the microwavian theories.

The toasterists are quite interesting as are the convectionists.

On the outer fringe we have the weberists to name a few.

It's kind of a dead end. I just wrote on Pantheism. Several atheists consider Pantheism, by the way, and I'm not trying to persuade you to become a Christian, as I am. There's Free Will, so it's your choice not to believe in YHWH and Yeshua or any other spiritual system.

For some patheists, all of the Universe is an aspect of Nature. Some would say, "Nope, everything is an aspect of the Universe, not Nature. Nature tends to be about Goddess Worship or worshiping Gaia." (The Gaia Hypothesis that the Earth is a living sentient being).

Some pantheists have no relationship to the Universe. It's merely a divine sense which permeates all life and nonlife. There's nothing to worship, in fact, if you worshiped it or not, it won't matter, because the Universe doesn't care.

For other pantheists, we make our own reality which is their definition of the localized reality around themselves, and so the believer is manifesting reality by their belief in the Universe, which is the sum total of reality. In a sense, since the believer is an aspect of the Universe,as much as a unicellular organism, then the Believer is the Universe, much as a finger would be a part of a human being.

You can't lump the pantheists, for some are like Hindus in which the Universe is manifesting beings that over time change and manifest as diving beings. See?

For me, it's so different than my own personal relationship with God, Yeshua, and the Holy Spirit, than it's sort of sterile and meaningless. There's no justice, no love, no connection, and so pointless.

In a pantheist world, it doesn't matter what you do, for some pantheists might argue that good and evil don't exist whatsoever. We know that's wrong. There's clear evil. I'm sure you sense it.

Pantheism

Pantheism is the belief that everything composes an all-encompassing, immanent God, or that the universe
(or nature) is identical with divinity.
Pantheists thus do not believe in a personal or anthropomorphic god, but believe that interpretations of the term differ.

Pantheism was popularized in the modern era as both a theology and philosophy based on the work of Baruch Spinoza whose Ethics was an answer to Descartes' famous dualist theory that the body and spirit are separate.

Spinoza held that the two are the same, and this monism is a fundamental quality of his philosophy. He was described as a "God-intoxicated man," and used the word God to describe the unity of all substance.
Although the term pantheism was not coined until after his death, Spinoza is regarded its most celebrated advocate.

Pantheism is a good approach, then later you will see that there is different deities and branches of God, and that is why we have so Manny different religions based around the same consent just different branches

I disagree with your assessment of Paul as would 99% of Biblical theologians. You are quite correct on the Hebrew spelling of Jesus as Yeshua although some disagree upon that and use Yehoshua too among others.

You do know that to be intellectually honest, that we have more ancient scroll writings of the Old and New Testament than any other book in history on literally any subject. The amount of copies are vast by comparison. So it would be more honest to say that you disbelieve the evidence.

Re: I'm considering Pantheism, what should I know?
First of all you ought to understand the very term. Pantheism is the belief that everything composes an all-encompassing, immanent God, or that the universe (or nature) is identical with divinity. Pantheists thus do not believe in a personal or anthropomorphic god, but believe that interpretations of the term differ.

Pantheism was popularized in the modern era as both a theology and philosophy based on the work of Baruch Spinoza... Einstein believed Spinoza's concept. HOWEVER even the prophet Isaiah (last verses of chapter 40 if I remember well) suggests God is power and in Hebrew this concept will be equivalent to dynamic energy.

Energy doesn't have a father or gods to create it, it just EXISTS and can be switched into matter. Therefore assuming the existence of God/Dynamic Energy is completely futile to ask if there's a father or a god or a whole family of divinities creating God/Energy because it just IS and science can't solve the problem.

You can start doing reasearch about "science" and you know where will you get? NOWHERE! Because a lot of posters do have opinions about science when fact is few have ever read complete books or upgrade their knowledge and even when a % of these have read something like..., let's say theoretical physicist prima Donna hypothetical Michio Kaku or Stephen Hawking daydreams... they swear in the name of daddy Chronus and mommy Evolution/Nature they are saying thetruthallthetruthandnothingbutthetruthsohelpyougod....

They have even invented -in incredible cynicism- the idea of antropic universe which according to Nobel Prize winner is something like "the universe somehow knew we were gonna come to ask why it is and behaves the way it is" so now they push the question even far away, beyond the question what happened 0.0 fraction of seconds before the Big Bang at the printing warehouse created millions of books with tons of illustrations and zillions of proper combination of letters, dots and commas.....

Hence, what did they do in a very convenient way acknowledging Stanley Miller's experiment was not the way he said it was and we need to combine the proper 20 levogires aminoacids among hundreds to pick a single miserable protein which is about tiny minimal part of the things required to produce DNA which is only a part of a cell. They figured out talking about "macroevolution" happened so fast without leaving hocus-pocus metamorphosis evident in fossils (because they are complete which is something Darwin never knew because there was no knowledge about genetics at that time and mutations prove the opposite of what he thought and survival of the fittest never explained the arrival of the creatures).

Therefore NOW they say life was "planted" on earth via somewhere else, like a spermatozoid meteorite from Mars and then they will push it far... faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away into those timy dots or stars which they can barely measure with light years. That's why they have said so many dates to one of the NEAREST STARS (Betelguese) that you have an error about 700 light years! You can figure out why so many people in naïve way think we can be 'sure' we can measure the ones which are very far away....

That measured with Doppler FX which is basically confusing AN EXAMPLE (repeated ad infinitum) that light has to behave like SOUND which was never the case, of course.

So, now, you can check the data and you will find out they, some scientists among who-knows-how-many-with-so-many-different-and-contradictory-theories..... are getting to the conclusion ancient philosophers and mathematicians like Poincare were right after all saying the universe is a dodecahedron soccer ball creating an illusion because it is also a hologram. Yap, the same Platonic geometrical toys cynical liar Carl Sagan used and showed in Cosmos tv series...

Of course you can choose Big Bang which is not uniform as they were saying, Big Rip, Big Freeze, Big Crunch or Big Bullshit if you desire... You can decide if the universe does have the shape of tortillas, curved or closed , donuts, onions, bubbles, trumpets (I read also the theory of the cosmos with the sahep of a saddle)or perhaps the electromagnetic universe which is hologram as well.

Einsten believed gravity is an illusion but they don't tell you this at the university, they say we can measure the gravity as in Newtonian concept and you will have to choose if we are measuring gravity or deformation of space because of the mass; you will have to figure out why do we have to believe in gravitons we never saw; why accept or not the struggle between dark matter and dark energy (one keeping the universe as it is and the other expaaaaaaaaanding it like a baloon) if don't have the slightest evidence of neither one of them or the mass of neutrinos.

You will have to determine if the universe is the unknown vacccum which is not a vaccum (tongue-twister isn't it? Like the big bang expression created as a JOKE by astronomer Fred Hoyle), if black holes which apparently suck all light somehow throw away information like VISIBLE FARTS in spite of that supersingularity....

Is this enough for you????

NOT AT ALL!!! With my extensive post I just wanted to set an example people choose and have chosen a lot of things which have no back up at all, no evidence whatsoever! People swallow the idea about Planck dimension trillion times smaller than a proton that nobody ever saw! Yet the same people try to make fun or mock others with cheap philosophy like "how many angels fit on the head of a needle?" Well, well, well, talk about dimensions!

Xenophanes philosopher imagined we make gods into our image and animals with intelligence could do the same. He confused the things upside down.

Why? Because perhaps we have made it so not because God is in our shape but because WE ARE in His/Her/Its (?) image. His error was confusing the reflection in the mirror with the matrix because the matrix as seen in altered states of consciousness has always been bizarre:

Re: I'm considering Pantheism, what should I know?
If you kind of want to believe in pantheism, it isn't for you.

If you realize that pantheism makes sense, then it is.

The Oracle concerning Egypt: Behold, IHVH rides upon a Swift Cloud and is in Procession to Egypt. The idols of Egypt shall tremble before him, and the hearts of the Egyptians shall melt within them. -- Isaiah 19

Announce and proclaim among the nations, Raise up the Ensign and proclaim it; hold nothing back, but say, 'Babylon shall be captured; Baal shall be put to shame, Marduk filled with horror. All the images of Babylon will be put to shame and her idols filled with terror!' -- Jeremiah 50

Re: I'm considering Pantheism, what should I know?
Human cockiness is fascinating & ridiculous. We send telescopes to the space like “eyes” and we put our radars as “ears” and some devices to check chemistry of the stars and we think that because we are doing that and we receive color images of the cosmos we are ‘really’ staring the whole lotta universe! That is absolutely idiotic. Even Hubble or whatever satellites and devices or Voyager are set nearby our earth neighborhood! It’s equivalent to a smart Salmonella bacteria able to get out of a piece of glass , manages to create an “eye” and “ears” just a bit outside itself and its colleagues who helped him to build its “Pioneer X” equivalent… AND FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE AS DETECTED BY ITS DEVICE IT GUESSES THE PLACES AND INHABITANTS OF THE WHOLE PLANET EARTH! Or like a cockroach crawling the sidewalk in Brazil and guessing with a similar tool the sort of life let’s say in India!!
Or like someone hidden in the bathroom at Toronto Skydome stadium and using a microcamera thinks he can not only watch properly the hockey game but he can see every single detail of the African savanna life! Imbecile, right???? Well, probably that’s you thinking we accept everything by “evidence”. Gimme a break!

I won’t waste much more time in this thread.
Just lemme finish by saying even animals perceive the universe better than us. Some can detect ultraviolet light, infrared, sonar system, etc.

Our personal window on the Universe is terribly small within a stunning range of wavelengths. With our eyes we see wavelengths between 0.00004 and 0.00008 of a centimeter (where, not so oddly, the Sun and stars emit most of their energy). The human visual spectrum from violet to red is but one octave on an imaginary electromagnetic piano with a keyboard hundreds of kilometers long."

Much of what you see is outside our human visual band, our eyes cannot register wave photons no matter how powerful they may be. Longer that the visual wavelength limit -up to about a millimeter- lies the infrared. At the short end is violet, with orange, yellow, green, blue and hundreds of overlapping shades. Longer waves, into kilometer-wavelengths toward the unknown end are what we call "radio."

Shorter than the visual limit are the ultraviolet -all running in the vacuum at the speed of light. At less than a percent of the wavelength of visual light are X rays, and at a factor of 100 smaller are the deadly gamma rays.

BTW, when they talk about the double nature of light perhaps is also false statement. Since they like to use the same example of Doppler like sound=light I will allow myself to use another example: you can't carry a wave of sea water to your house, can you? The only thing you can do is carrying a bucket of sea water. Now imagine a swimming pool with smaller waves.... when the water hits the walls of the pool they become DROPS OF WATER which end up falling into the WAVES again, right? Well, it never meant that 'particle' of water became something else.....

Perhaps, you know other language than English, are in better position to understand it was wise for you to replace the false Greek letter ypsilon (y) for the "yod" which was always "iod" with an 'i'. Now change the Greek letter Eta (Heta with the mute H) which is the letter E with longer sound (like Epsilon)by the real letter E (which was inverted like mirror reflection) in Paleo-Hebrew alphabet. That E is repeated twice rather than E and even Spielberg knows that.

I meant the E is the proper letter rather than false H used as a replacement.

"You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire; you build egos the size of cathedrals; fiber-optically connect the world to every eager impulse; grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green, gold-plated fantasies, until every human becomes an aspiring emperor, becomes his own God... and where can you go from there?"
