Republicans used to be blue and Democrats were red. It seems like the commies wanted to sneak in undetected so they swapped colors so it wouldn't be so blatantly obvious. Here is the blue map after Reagan was elected. Red was traditionally the color of Communists. Also the Republicans turned the 3 stars on their logo upside down to show 3 pentagrams. The notion that there were “red states” and “blue states”—and that the former were Republican and the latter Democratic—wasn’t cemented on the national psyche until the year 2000.
