Its a great book.

I can STRONGLY recomment Nick Bostrom as well:

I am 100% sre that we are right in the paradigm shift now......and I mean NOW :-)

We are extremely close to proof - and when you dig into it, a beatutifull world of new possibilities unfold.

I'll check it out. Like I said, Self-Aware Universe was the shit back then.

That book looks similar to Robert Lanza's Biocentrism - I'll check it out...

According to Lanza's book, Biocentrism suggests that life is not an accidental byproduct of physics, but rather is a key part of our understanding of the universe. The theory states that there is no independent external universe outside of biological existence. Part of what the theory sees as evidence of this is that there are over 200 physical parameters within the universe so exact that it is seen as more probable that they are that way in order to allow for existence of life and consciousness, rather than coming about at random. Biocentrism claims that allowing the observer into the equation opens new approaches to understanding cognition. Through this, biocentrism purports to offer a way to unify the laws of the universe.

SUPER video!

Actually I think that is was not LIGHT, but CURIOSITY that set the whole thing of......because curiosity sheds light and is the basic state of all discovery.....and who ever created us, must have had discovery as the objective......and thats eternal.

If you where "god" - what would be your first command but "let there be curiosity" ?

Einstein knew this - he said "Never loose a holy curiosity"....and why would he say "holy"....because he knew that Curiosity has an existence of its own-

....well....if differ on that issue, I never thought of "creation" until I went into the rabbit hole of "quantum mechanics" and the phenomenon of "curiosity".

BUT - after that, even a hard-core science guy like me have to accept the facts - and there is indeed a creation and a "creator".

I propose an experiment for those who think mass doesn't exist. Get a 200 lb weight, hang it out a 3 story window with some kind of remote release mechanism, stand directly below the weight, release the weight and think yourself out of the impending collision.

I second this motion, I also have a degree in physics, and I will also assure you that there is mass.

It's nearly impossible for the lay-person to speak intelligently about quantum physics. Saying there is no mass is a good example of this. Of course mass exists, we use it all the time to model phenomena and to make accurate predictions about the world we inhabit.

I will also assure you subscribers to hippie physics, that you have no clue what you are talking about, this kind of babble is amusing at best, and horribly miss-informing at worst.

If you really want to learn about mass and gravity I suggest you start with a good physics text book, and some learn classical mechanics. Then move on to field theory and quantum mechanics. Remember that these are just models, the world does not operate according to the rules of QM or newtons laws or any other laws. Our models are flawed, but they do work under certain circumstances, take it for what it is. You can't learn QM or physics in general by watching youtube, or reading books. You learn physics, by doing physics. Learn the techniques and try them your-self, learn the math, and learn the theories and apply them to things you can measure, see where the models work and where they don't work, and try to fix them. This is how it's done, not by relaying popular bullshit from YT.

For most everyone, mass is evident in our daily lives, it exists, we don't live in the Matrix. But what gives mass a quantity and measurable qualities? The Higgs field seems to do that. But where does gravity come into play? We can see the effects of gravity, particularly on the 200# weight over ones head. But how is that 200# weight pulled toward earth? Earth is spinning, centrifugal force should fling everything apart...but it doesn't.

What is gravity? Should have something to do with mass, I think, and the Higgs field, since that gives mass to particles. Am I on the right track?

But acceleration isn't a force, it's an action caused by a force, that force could be gravity, maybe not. Gravity, afaik, is the attractive force between two objects containing mass. But what is it that reaches out and pulls one object to another? And, even wierder, at the atomic level, what holds protons together? They should fly apart given all positive charges.

Quantum physics is soooo hard to understand. Trying though.

For almost a century science has known that there is NO MASS - only consciousness.

Did you know that ?

IF you did not know that - help me find out why this extremely important information didn't reach you (....just as 98% of the population) ?

Spend a few minutes with scientist Amit Goswami and broaden your mind - if you get it......you will change.

I knew a PhD physical chemist who was a brilliant research scientist. He spend his spare time figuring things out. He was certain that mass was rapidly spinning photons, he came to that conclusion after working on equations to figure that out in his spare time. He was convinced this was the case.

Spin, has not been properly identifed. Partcle spin, and the uncertainty principle, two things not understood by modern science.. Supposedly.

The l.h.c. Is searching for the boson, but its still just a theoretical particle isnt it?

Light, electrons, dont need mass to exert force.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23524705

Allow me to break it down for you.

The exponent (Professor Goswami) is using an appeal to authority (quantum physics) to validate an idealist (reality as we can know it being fundamentally mental or mentally constructed) position derived from the classical metaphysical objective (the nature or "how" of being).

That's what I said, sorry if you were unable to make the necessary "quantum leap" (see what I did there?) to extrapolate the meaning.

I contend that the appeal to authority here could be argued as fallacious due to lack of consensus in the field (to put it politely) and modern metaphysics as a school of thought to be mostly an exercise in sophistry and a priori reasoning.

On a side note, many exponents of this "quantum mysticism" (Deepak Chopra springs to mind) like to argue that their conclusions are a posteriori but in almost all cases this is simply untrue as they cannot be demonstrated and are invariably testimony of subjective experience... useless for any practical purpose.

The common retort is to cite such phenomena as the Observer Effect, but this is again the fallacious appeal to authority and not (as the name may suggest to those unfamiliar with the actual science) an effect of human perception, it is merely the Heisenberg uncertainty principle in action which is a whole other ball game.

However explaining this to somebody who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're" is probably an exercise in futility. :/

Re: Quantum mechanics show that there is NO MASS...and thats a gamechanger
Remembering well, the bell jar experiment (set up primarily to demonstrate that sound does not travel through a vacuum) got me thinking that where there was no perception outside of the jar, with vacuum applied to the inside, the perceived force from inside the glass jar is a sqeezing or collapsing inward.

If our existance was inside this example of a closed Universe, our attempts to understand the forces of our Universe would be measured within it. We would calculate that this squeezing or, pushing force is 'generated' from the glass surface atoms (perhaps explaining it as gravity). At the same time, our atoms would be expanding in an atempt to fill the vacuum and that The detection of these two frces would seem contradictory.

Higgs and the unified field, if found would be like finding the origin of force interacting with and causing the contradictory forces experienced inside the glass jar. Of course, we know that on a macro level that it is atmopheric pressure which supports the changing conditions inside the jar. This relationship (between inside pressure and outside pressure, when accounting for the strength or, mass of the glass, Would be found to be a mathmatical CONSTANT which, equated, predicts the exact measure of force per square centimeter ( or whatever volume).

I postulate, therefore, that higgs would prove the existance of further realities outside of our known Universe.

I learned more from that video, than from hours of others on the subject. There's one other talk by the same speaker which is equally fantastic:

Dark Matter And the Ultimate Fate of the Universe

Re: Quantum mechanics show that there is NO MASS...and thats a gamechanger
I just don't understand what exactly your trying to say,
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23524705

Funny Retort!! But you bring up one of those 'How The Fawk Did That Just Happen?' or the HtFDTJH response.

The Observer Effect.

Yet another baffling part of quantum physics. How does that happen???

cheers
 Quoting: Maguyver

The Observer becomes part of the experiment and is not longer merely an observer, but part of a larger equation.

Re: Quantum mechanics show that there is NO MASS...and thats a gamechanger
The "no mass" notion do not mean that we do not experience mass....or else we where not here behind the screen.

It says that we can elevate our understanding to a new plane - that is outside time and space and is comprised of consciousness.

I know its hard to comprehend - and my best advice is to try to imagine that our "world" is to be expirenced from "inside and out" - and not "outside and in", hence the holographic and electric universe models..

Its radical - I know - but never the less....its actually possible to internalize this fact as knowledge, it takes some years - I have spend 10 years, but now I know.

Your consciousness is all there is - and its huge, beautiful, complex and contains all you know of.

Isn't the timing in another bachtun from now?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3303212

Well i not sure I understand the question.

But we have just entered the 13 baktun, which actually mean that we are entering an initiation process/are in the process now. You can say that we are in the teen-stage now, entering the ranks of young adults.

Mass is energy. Are you saying that energy doesn't exist?

not that this will interest anyone..or will anyone care to accept it...

This 'place' is just an idea. An idea that everyone here accepts as 'real'.

it is an extremely advanced interactive playstation video.

and..our consciousness is tied to into it by BELIEF ALONE.

the only reason we are 'here' is because we believe it.

the movie the matrix is much more real than most of you will ever want to accept.

the 'God' that punishes and rewards is built into this system. 'he' acts within this program and in fact is the mainframe of this program.

the energy that makes all of this up is the real 'god' but he isn't 'god' per se. ..he is all there is and ever will be ...we are simply single cells of him .

we were created in order for 'god' to experience himself.

'god' being all things, everything...was like an endless ocean of water that didn't know what 'wet' was. so...he created dry land and put people on it so HE COULD SEE HIMSELF. Each of us is a part of him...but also an individual. He experiences everything through us being here ...in this place and every place. ..we are developing , growing...becoming 'separate' consciousnesses from his...yet still one. He in us and we in him.

now..this being true, consider Christ. Christ comes into this 'matrix' ...why? It is time for 'us' to go on to the next stage of development...but..'we' are so entrenched in this playstation...that we needed help to get out..to leave the draconian, sacrificial , insane universe matrix..

so, enter Christ...to invite all those that are ready...to take their virtual reality goggles off ...and to exit..

this is how it is. believe it or not.

Your consciousness is only a lens for viewing personally observable manifestations within a unified field of energy. The reality and true nature of the cosmic is simply beyond humanity's understanding due to our extremely limited perspective.
