| Sig Sauer (OP) User ID: 33092074 01/29/2013 08:04 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My husband has friends in law enforcement in both Bonneville and Jerome counties and he was told by at least one that the ID state sheriffs are meeting very soon (I think he said this week, but I don't remember exactly) to talk about what they will and won't be enforcing. I would not be at all surprised if the ADA county sheriff is the only one in Idaho who sides with the federal govt. Quoting: casseopeia You're completely correct, they know numbers and we win. Lets put it like this, I don't know ANYONE who doesn't have firearms ANYONE here in 2C. You can't even hardly get into a gun shop these days....LOL, they're swamped. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 31027403 01/29/2013 08:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in Ada county I support our Constitution fully. I also own an AR-15 and several hunting rifles, and I am a woman. What drives me insane are all these people feaking out about our Constitutional rights being taken away, yet where in the hell were all of you when the Presidential directive for Homeland Security was signed, or the NDAA??? There are many, many, bills that have been passed which severely impinge on our freedoms and rights yet it was eerily quiet. I guess they just have to use the excuse it's to protect us from terrorists and everyone shuts up, or doesn't even realize there's a problem. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31027403 Now, the freaking out that is going on over these new gun laws is ridiculous. I fully support our rights to bear arms, but I do believe there should be limits considering our country is full of a bunch of dimwitted nut jobs who can't even begin to comprehend the rights we've already handed over without a peep. Do you realize that most crimes are committed by criminals, take Chicago for instance do you know how many murders there were there last year? look it up and then look up the fact that they have the toughest gun laws in our country. More laws aren't the answer, taking guns away from criminals is the answer and stopping illegal immigration. I think they should have tougher screening, as in if you've ever had a domestic violence charge, a battery charge etc. no gun for you. I really don't think it's fair that we lose rights because of a few idiots, but that has been the prevailing trend since 9/11. I am of course a conspiracy nut, so I do question many issues revolving around the gun issue, however, I don't really think what they are proposing does anything, it's already a law and they are adding a few things to it. But, there has been a startling trend toward taking away our rights, one by one and quietly, so I do have the thought in the back of my mind that IF they were up to something, than this would be a good start. |

It explicity says; "Thus, the Supremacy Clause does not grant power to any federal actor, such as Congress. It deals with resolving a conflict between the federal and state governments once federal power has been validly exercised" Sheriff fail. ![]() A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain. The supremacy clause only applies to valid law NOT unconstitutional law.....which of course is not law at all is it!
