You would have to be some kind of special fucking idiot to wait in a huge line to turn in your assault rifle for a stinking $200 gift card.

The gun is mangled? Maybe.

I'll bet the cops just jizz in their pants when some stupid bastard brings in a family heirloom!!

yup, my cousin is a detective in Miami. He showed me a minty vintage Colt 1911 he got while working a detail at a "Kicks for guns" event.
He gave the person the shoes, and promptly put the colt in his car.

I've often wondered how many guns are kept by the cops after a buyback. I would have to think almost anything of value is kept or sold for loads more than a $50-$200 grocery card. I saw a couple of stories recently. One, an old lady tried to turn in a Sturmgewehr but was convinced to keep it, and two, someone turned in a mint Colt Python but would not listen to reason and took his gift card to "get the gun off the street." Make me weep.

Do you get $200 for a mosin?

Buy a crate of Mosins and a can of black spraypaint, trade 70-100 dollar mosins in for 200 dollar giftcards.

Profit?

$100 for standard rifles. Does Mosin make an assault version for under $200?
