Went to Emergency Room on a Friday Night, immediately put me on antibiotics to kill infection. Made dentist appointment and had them pull it........ Don't risk doing this by yourself, without anyone here seeing your condition, things could easily spiral out of control. |

You get 2000 mgs for 16.00 tax included and take 400 mgs at a time every 4-6 hrs. It comes in powder form and tastes like a crawlspace smells, but one box should cure the infection within 24-48 hours. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25009699 And you keep your tooth |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33132507 Not only should it be pulled by someone who knows what they are doing, but the cavity has to be treated so that ALL of the infection is totally gone! ITS A SERIOUS THING. . I found a dentist that will take the tooth out for 99$ but I dont get paid till Friday. You could go to him most do not ask for the money upfront tell them afterward you will pay them friday and be sure to do it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33059154 United Kingdom 01/29/2013 04:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had an abscess once on my tooth I sliced some raw garlic pressed it on my gum held it as long as I could (it burns) it not only relived the pain but it was the best nights sleep I had in about three days. I then repeated it every time it felt painful and eventually it went away. My face was swollen on one side but I took garlic capsules which I bought from a herbalist (six a day) for seven days. It worked for me although garlic is thought to be a natural antibiotic you may need something stronger and you really you should seek medical help as well. I do recommend trying the garlic to alleviate the pain though. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 26759477 United States 01/29/2013 05:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In the meantime, try popping the abcess. It's basicly just full of puss and will drain just like a zit with a small needle. Your pain is coming from the swelling. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33275870 Try that first. Also, sucking on whole cloves and letting them sit against the swollen gum area will have a numbing effect that will last for a while. I didn't believe it either till I tried it. Just went through this with a son with no job - no dentist - no $$. Swab area with clove oil (available in Middle Eastern and Asian markets)- great to numb the area. 'Swish' with warm salt water as often as possible. the abcess can be lanced and drained -- continue to swish with warm salt water. If you can get antibiotics from the emergency room, that would be best, but if not able to obtain, alternate rinsing with warm salt water followed by peroxide will help. the process can take about 72 hours before you will have noticable results. don't try to extract the tooth yourself - if the crown of the tooth breaks and the root(s) are left, you are setting yourself up for more problems. Is there a University with a Dental school in your area? you can 'walk-in' to their clinic and they will usually help you -- not the students!! the Professors will use you as a teaching aide -- all free of charge. Good Luck |

Severe complications requiring immediate hospitalization include Ludwig's angina, which is a combination of growing infection and cellulitis which closes the airway space causing suffocation in extreme cases. Also infection can spread down the tissue spaces to the mediastinum which has significant consequences on the vital organs such as the heart. Another complication, usually from upper teeth, is a risk of septicaemia (infection of the blood) from connecting into blood vessels, brain abscess (extremely rare), or meningitis (also rare). Depending on the severity of the infection, the sufferer may feel only mildly ill, or may in extreme cases require hospital care. In 2011, Kyle Willis died from an untreated dental abscess in Cincinnati,[3] as did fashion designer Hugo Boss, in 1948. [4] [link to en.wikipedia.org] A 24-year-old Cincinnati father died from a tooth infection this week because he couldn't afford his medication, offering a sobering reminder of the importance of oral health and the number of people without access to dental or health care. According to NBC affiliate WLWT, Kyle Willis' wisdom tooth started hurting two weeks ago. When dentists told him it needed to be pulled, he decided to forgo the procedure, because he was unemployed and had no health insurance. When his face started swelling and his head began to ache, Willis went to the emergency room, where he received prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medications. Willis couldn't afford both, so he chose the pain medications. The tooth infection spread, causing his brain to swell. He died Tuesday. Just today I cured a toothache I had with clove powder. It is highly antibacterial. I just put some powder around my gums and a couple hours later the toothache is gone. |
