More math...just guestimating

313,000,000 americans total
minus the 45% on welfare, social security, or receiving a gov't or municiple paycheck
leaves 172,000,000

subtract the minor children
that leaves 123,000,000

if 5% of what is left would stand, it would be nearly even.
Except for the technological advantage, weapons advantage, supply chain advantage and the UN for backup.

Would it be beneficial to consider weaponry instead of just "boots on the ground?" I was a combat medic in an armored battalion and developed great respect for heavy weapons with state of the art technology onboard. A squad of M-1A1 Abrams tanks vs. AKs and ARs ??? This isn't the 18th century when both sides had comparable arms. Most of your tough talking wanna-be militia neighbors will piss themselves. Then they'll turn in their guns and snitch on you.
Jes' sayin'...take care of your own shit and ignore everybody else.

I read a thread here the other day about the military litmus test. 'Will you fire on Americans.' I got to thinking that maybe half would say yes (But really wouldn't) They know why that question was being asked, and if they just marked the yes box it comes with higher rank with pay.

I don't think the Gov is getting accurate data like they like to think they are.

several variables you have left
out of that number.

Mass Desertions
pencil pushers
Patriot double agents/spies

about half that number are
in support roles only.

and some will stay with their units
to serve as spies for the Patriots
to give intel on operations, supply
routes and tactics used.

I'd say the Patriots chances are better
than 60% as the Patriots will turn
the war into a war of attrition that
the enemy cannot sustain. You can damn
well bet that no taxes will be paid
during an internal conflict.

this is what I am expecting.

when the gov feels really threatened,
they will stage a fake coup by military
to initiate a cease fire so they can regroup.

wrong move to believe in this fake coup.

it's just another Psy-Op they will use

About 12 years ago, the Marine Corps did a survey at Camp Pendleton on this subject. Believe me, many, if not most GI's would indeed shoot on Americans.

Twenty years ago, most troops would never think of killing women and children. Now, after a decade of Iraq/Afghanistan, it is a non-issue.
First, you dehumanize the enemy. Call them Haj and Sand N#ggers. Tell stories of mothers with babies wearing suicide vests, etc...next thing you know, everyone who is not on our team gets lit up. The same demonizing psychology is being initiated against gun owners, militias, etc...the seeds are being planted that the booger men with the black rifles and 30 round mags are the bad guys.

And that's the key: OUR team. Any veteran on GLP will tell you that units fight with and for their unit. Their battle buddies. NOT for god and country and all that crap. First time a modern-day minuteman shoots and kills a soldier on the team, the whole f-ing battalion comes down on you and your militia.

I would agree with you in part.
I was in the military and I am here to say that there are many in active duty that would say no. All it takes is 1 and the other's will follow. You must remember most in the military are country boys who have been around guns most of their lives. And as one battle buddy go's the other's will to, and if the Gov turns on them then hundreds if not thousands of soldiers will follow.

Actions are a whole other issue... and the military would literally split in half.

And think about all those great military minds being pushed out.
