"I forgot Abrams don't "swim" to well so I guess swamp travel is out of the question also!"

I'm just using the machinery I'm familiar with as an example. They are at the A3 variant by now. There are other armored vehicles out there that can go where the M-1A1 can't. It is a big boy. A main battle tank. The SOB has a turbine jet engine! can go 65MPh. I think a few of those deployed around the old grain elevator will change a lot of minds out in rural America.
All this bravado is commendable, in as much as it shows great passion. But if you are REALLY interested in taking on the U.S. Army, you better get off the Internet and spend the rest of your days totally committed to becoming very, very hard men.

if you were in theater in the Nam
then you would know that once a forward fire
base got gooks under the wire in the dark

it was all over

do you think that will change on American soil ??
me thinks not

Why do you think a few tanks around a grain elevator will do or mean anything at all?

Sounds more laughable than anything else.

Fuck, I don't have a "cause." I'm an old guy out in the woods hoping my country doesn't go into the shitter. I'm a gun totin' flag wavin' NRA and American Legion member disabled veteran patriot.
I think all this talk about taking on the FedGov is folly. They will fucking crush any resistance with overwhelming force.
War is for younger guys. I had my fun.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33285656

No, I totally agree with the gov crushing anything they come up against. Just would like to hear different opinions is all. Thanks.
 Quoting: Bent

Don't know much about 4th and 5th generation warfare I see.

When you understand clinton rules, the levels of warfare, open source insurgency and asymetric warfare just to name a few we might be able to have a theoretical conversation.
 Quoting: s. d. butler

What I do see though, is that you like to litmus test everyone on this forum. How the hell can you test someone on an internet forum and be so sure they are who they say? You are delusional.
 Quoting: Bent

There is no litmus test. I am saying that the people who CONSTANTLY say the fedguv will crush any resistance are wrong.

If the people who say these things don't understand the concepts I have listed then there is no point in engaging them in a conversation.

I don't care who you are or say you are. We are talking about ideas here.

I don't know where the idea of omnipotent government comes from but plenty of people seem to believe it.

Unless an enemy could conquer America quickly, and end all resistance, it is sure to lose.
The longer anything is drawn out the worse problem it becomes to try to restrain cities, keep factories working and major supply lines open.
As the initial stockpile of military supplies dwindle, supplying the Military, while feeding and keeping civilians happy and under control becomes an ever increasing problem.
This is similar to a problem that Hitler faced in WW2.
The Occupied territories were never totally subdued, requiring ever increasing amounts of troops just to maintain order and secure an uninterrupted flow of supplies to the front lines.
We see this happening today in Afghanistan, where troops are retreating into "green zones" or FOB's, effectively returning the control of the countryside to the Rebels.
Sometimes they patrol by day, but retreat to fortified areas at night.
Oh yes. the "official line" is that we still control these areas, but the truth is something different.
The number of troops required to really control and subdue the country is far greater than even we can sustain for any length of time.

Would it be beneficial to consider weaponry instead of just "boots on the ground?" I was a combat medic in an armored battalion and developed great respect for heavy weapons with state of the art technology onboard. A squad of M-1A1 Abrams tanks vs. AKs and ARs ??? This isn't the 18th century when both sides had comparable arms. Most of your tough talking wanna-be militia neighbors will piss themselves. Then they'll turn in their guns and snitch on you.

I've got to go, but let me leave this thread with these comments:
We are in for some hard times due to the current police state mentality in DC and most state capitols.

But, the "America of Freedom and Liberty" died a slow cancerous death a long time ago. What we have now is the last gasp of a once proud nation's free citizens. Some of whom believe they can prevail in an armed conflict against the FedGov. I think this is foolish and the centralized Powers will crush all opposition. Quickly and mercilessly.

Time may be better spent working on a new political paradigm that can oppose them and beat them at their own game.

BTW, no one is coming for our guns. They will implode our economy and bleed us to death financially first.

Thanks for a stimulating thread.

Out.

I don't think you are right about those militia
neighbors.

Further:

All you have to do to stop the mighty military,
if it did turn on Americans, is cut their comms,
then their power.

Far as that goes, tanks won't budge an inch with
a certain substance dumped on their tracks in the
dark of night. All there would be in the morning
is crumbles.

The .gov only has about 30% on board with them
anyway when it comes to violating posse comitatus.
Most of them will be hispanic, black, gay and
female.

And what about the money.
You think taxes will still get paid by anyone if
the military is turned on The People???? You think
the military will run without paychecks?
