1946 - Armed rebellion led by WWII veterans and citizens in Athens , Tennessee, against the tyrannical local government

This is important and should NEVER be part of our FORGOTTEN history !!! I had never heard of it until today.

The damned corrupt government wants to keep you stupid... they re-write history for their own benefit !!

so what's the basic story, they attacked the people they elected?

They attacked the corrupt officials who were trying to make sure they were re-elected.... by corrupting the elections. It's a short video and well worth watching... but if you're not from the USA, it prolly isn't important to you. LOL

A knowledgeable friend showed this video to me today. Like you, I had not heard of it before.
When I think of the Second Amendment used to change a tyrannical government, I think of our national government. I would like to add, I do not think that time has yet come to violently overthrow our current leaders.
I had never considered the possibility of taking up arms against a corrupt local government.
Lately I have heard it said that anyone that would consider using the Second Amendment to prepare for the day of violent overthrow of the national government is committing treason. But to keep a local government in check with the Second Amendment is not treason.
I would like to think with todays technology to communicate anywhere quickly, the situation that occurred in Athens would likely not happen in our current world.
