This is another pic of me and my husband...hope you like it...and yes, that is sarcastic. Is your "husband" a cop or in the military? Now don't lie. No actually, he's in business management. He considered going into the military but I presauded him to get his degree and do something with that. For one, I was afraid I'd never see him again. Two, I don't support their military and their crazy kiling sprees. Well, that was a long pause. I don't believe you. Your powers of persuasion fall a bit flat. Tell us something about this incident that will make it believable. Try to be more "persuasive" this time. |

He was head of the swat team over the state. Forget what it's called, and haven't talked to him in a while, and think he's in another position now, but I've worried about him so much. He's a great guy, kind, compassionate, and I can't figure why he made his choices, but I still love him. After the other poster got me thinking, I'm half tempted to call him. He knows I wouldn't say anything or ask anything to jeopardize anything but just to ask if he knew this was some fake thing. Hmmm. Thinking. Thanks. Your cousin sounds like a great guy...very successful. I believe the military is full of great guys. Unfortunately, they have no control over some of the things they're asked to do. If you talk to him, please share his thoughts on all this. It would be intersting to hear his opinion, with his background and all. LOL. I severely modified my post thinking he may not appreciate me announcing his occupation but guess he wouldn't mind. Not like it's a secret. Thanks, he's always been so busy. Always doing something. I know there are a lot of good guys in the military and LE, but it's just not something you want someone you love, doing. Especially when you know how kind and good hearted they are. We have given in to some very strange requests before: [link to www.washingtonpost.com] Editor's Note: This is the text of a 35,000-word manifesto as submitted to The Washington Post and the New York Times by the serial mail bomber called the Unabomber. The manifesto appeared in The Washington Post as an eight-page supplement that was not part of the news sections. This document contains corrections that appeared in the Friday, Sept. 22, 1995 editions of Washington Post. The text was sent in June, 1995 to The New York Times and The Washington Post by the person who calls himself “FC,” identified by the FBI as the Unabomber, whom authorities have implicated in three murders and 16 bombings. The author threatened to send a bomb to an unspecified destination “with intent to kill” unless one of the newspapers published this manuscript. The Attorney General and the Director of the FBI recommended publication. As a talk show host, I have a lot of experience listening to callers, some of whom I disagree with, but that is what freedom of speech is about. As a freelance reporter, I see things with differant eyes than many of the general public. FTR, I am a conservative. |

Maybe he's heard you before on the radio. Seems I read he likes to listen to conservative radio. Whether or not they'll let anyone go is anyone's guess but doubt we'll know any time soon. I think they treat each situation differently depending on many circumstances but with the safety of everyone being at the top of their priorities. They probably don't want to end up in a hostage "exchange" situation where the reporter wouldn't get out or that they'd lose any ground they'd gained. That it's gone on this long is a good thing. Mr. Dykes probably knows he made a big mistake in the beginning, but has a chance to help right that wrong. He's bargaining with them and that's a major step for helping himself and getting the little boy out. Last Edited by Nine's on 02/04/2013 04:41 PM |

Quoting: Dease It's been reported that Mr. Dykes is requesting for a reporter to go inot the bunker, and share his story with the public. It seems he feels he's been wronged in some way (not sure if through the military/govt, etc). It has been reported that he needs a reporter? Okay. What's wrong with the one he has now? Yeah. Cause the media reading us a story will make this so much more believable. Yes, if only Anderson Cooper tells us it is so!!! Do you actually believe what you are saying? I'll tell you why I think Mr. Dykes has a problem with the current reporters. They're not really listening to him. They're talking about him as a suspect ,and not as a person. He wants to tell them his story. I would go, as I stated before. I am an older, petite female, totally non-threatening in appearance. I think you might have a better shot at getting through to him than some of the negotiators. I would also go. Although I'm not a reporter, I do write for a newspaper. My husband said no woman should go down there though. He's afraid they would be raped. |
