Davis said Dykes has lived at a residence on Private Road 1539 for about a year. He said Dykes constructed a "bunker" behind the residence with a PVC pipe leading to the back end of the residence.

"It's the craziest thing. He will be outside in his yard digging dirt at 2:30 in the morning," Davis, Jr. told the Eagle.

Yes my family has land less than a mile from this area. It has been full of FBI SWAT BOMB SQUAD -they are not releasing many details. I feel this man was so far confused and off; Its sad that he apparently held a neighbor at gun point prior to Christmas; for believing he drove in his yard ? He should of had a psych evaluation then; and been given help. Perhaps then we would not have a school bus driver deceased; and a bus full of innocent children that will live with what they saw today. Pray for this little child that has been kidnapped. God only KNOWS what he is going through. PRAY for our little community; where nothing like this happens-or so we believed it never would.

I think more and more people should realize that life and death exist in more than television, video games, books and other outside stimuli. Pain is real. Fear is made from what we are taught since birth and from the MSM and Hollywood.. The poor young boy and his family just became real... That is sad...

I can see why someone would want to buy some time from the Police. This person is not thinking rationally anymore and confused as to what to do, driven by fear and adrenaline.

Can someone get background on him? He's a plant. I bet you anything they "talk him down" and he releases the child unharmed. Gets arrested, goes to jail, but you'll never be able to trace him to see where he goes to prison because he won't. He'll disappear into obscurity.

I know that money and work, etc can influence where we live, BUT..if you are going to be a prepper with a shelter, why would you build it with neighbors around..???

Build it elsewhere or, better yet, find a more secluded area to live..all that "digging" at night probably did freak the neighbors out....
busybodies, looking out their windows, gossiping..kids making up stories that dude was burying kids or dead people out there..

hmmm..the plot thickens..something just does not jive about this situation...

why would he go to all that trouble and expense to build that shelter if he was going to go bezerk?
