Theres those Sheriffs again...

Ive been saying for a while now that when the SHTF, that its the sheriffs that you can count on, for most of us anyway. The organization of militias will be done at the local level through the Sheriffs.

Its still a ways off though.

We've got to get through part where the whole federal firearms registration deal is done, and then the confiscation will start a little after that.

Its at least another year or two.

I bet a lot of Sheriffs will not say a word until push comes to shove. Some may be keeping their mouths shut to avoid undue federal scrutiny, but many just want to keep their heads in the sand becuase they know that if a real rebellion breaks out their tiny little office will be seriously out numbered by both federal agents and the general population. Lot of pressure on the local Sherrifs right about now.

Unfortunately.....even though the Sheriffs in NM say one thing...

the state just voted today to "go along with the federal guidelines".

Mind you the huge and extremely important vote in NM

was made by only 5 people....two republicans and 3 DEMOCRATES.

So...the five (allegedly powerful people per the local news tonight) have decided for the entire state of millions of people.

How does this happen?

The Sheriff has more power than any of them...we just need to make sure they have sufficient manpower to protect us....might be about time to volunteer!

Sorry to throw water on the fire but as nice as it is to see 200+ Sheriffs say "NO"...it dosen't account for the other 3000 who back the Obama gun grab.

We've got several sheriffs here in CO fighting the good fight. Even though it may not amount to much, it gives me hope...

They have my active support, Sir.

I was just out at another forum and the list is up to 226. it will keep growing.

This does not matter.

Currently, their livelihoods are not in jeopardy, neither are their future careers in law enforcement or politics.

The moment a centralized government (both state and federal) ties matching or non-matching funding to this, all resistance will fade away.

For those fools that do decide to hold out, they will have successfully run their county departments into the fiscal ground. The departments will then fall under state or federal "management". That will finally erase the perceived independence of these law enforcement officials.

Even before this point, there will be very few that are willing to give up their overpaid jobs, outstanding health benefits, and pensions.

You will see. They will fold. They will do as they are told, as will you.

You will all comply in the end.

and they will all be voted out of office. careers over....

True, the ones who are speaking out most likely have pretty strong local support of 2nd Amendment rights; some in other places were sentiment is divided are not saying anything yet.

Probably lots of county commissioners are being threatened with cut offs of grant moneys etc. & they may be asking sheriffs to be non-committal.

Obviously, plenty will sell their souls, and violate their oaths of office. But just because many of the remaining 3,000 haven't signed on either way, doesn't mean they won't, when things heat up.

And Ill tell you now, there's 200 new sherif positions coming up soon. You have got to be a fool if you think these trouble makers will be left in position.

You cant count on a person that doesnt understand the big picture, alot of these sherif's are only in that position because their pa was or because they are good yes men to local old money.

Its just a fantasy to believe that they will save your precious toys from being taken away.
