It's just the banks speculating with all the fake money they have. 90% of trading is done by high frequency trading algorythims. The stock market bears no reflection on the real economy.

The stock market has never been a good indicator of how an economy is doing, it is however a good indicator of how the upper-middle and upper class are doing

The stock market hitting a new all-time NOMINAL high doesn't mean a thing. My math tells me it would have to be north of 20,000 in order to hit a new INFLATION-ADJUSTED all-time high. We all know how much bullshit paper money has been printed since the stock market last crested 14,000 in 2007, and how much the cost of just about everything we need to live on a day to day basis has gone up (in dollars).

How do you know I'm telling it to you straight? What was the price of gold the last time the stock market hit 14,000 in 2007? 'Nuff said.
