Everyone else in the world pronounces it "Thaymes" which of course is the correct pronunciation. It makes me proud that although the English language originated with the Poms, it was only perfected with the advent of Australian English. Nobody with any education pronounces it "Thaymes", which is why Australians pronounce it "Thaymes". |
