Iran: Talks Suspended by World Powers

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Wednesday reiterated Tehran's readiness and willingness to resume talks with the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany), and said these were the world powers which have suspended the negotiations.

The Iranians say that the Europeans are delaying the talks while the P5+1 is accusing Iran.

The US secretary of state nominee, John Kerry in a statement presented to Senate Foreign Relations Committee says: “(I summon): Iranians should know, nothing else is posed, if their nuclear program is peaceful and non-proliferation they should prove it and that is what we are seeking.”

If all above-mentioned points are true, then what is happening?

Any lawyer can tell you that according to all state and international laws, the accuser is supposed to prove his claims while the accused has no compulsion to prove that he is not guilty.

All in all, the defendant is irreproachable until proved guilty.

This is the way all laws in history have worked, otherwise everyone will be able to claim that another person is guilty of doing something and the defendant will not be able to prove his innocence.

Hagel and a Nuclear Iran -- Perfect Together

Sounding indistinguishable from Noam Chomsky or Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former Sen. Chuck Hagel agreed in an Al Jazeera interview that the United States is "the world's bully" and has depicted Israel as a cruel oppressor, yet appears to have little similar concern about the danger of a nuclear-armed Iran.

To the contrary, Hagel has gone so far as to argue that any government (even an openly genocidal jihadist regime) possessing such a weapon would naturally respond to the gravity of their new responsibility with common sense, prudence, and sanity.

Chuck Hagel is pledging that as defense secretary he will “focus intently on ensuring the U.S. military” is prepared to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities if needed.

“I agree with the president that the United States should take no options off the table in our efforts to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon,” Hagel said in written answers to policy questions posed by the Senate Armed Services Committee, which will hold a hearing tomorrow on President Barack Obama’s nomination of the former Nebraska senator to head the Pentagon.

“While there is time and space for diplomacy, backed by pressure, the window is closing,” Hagel said in the 112-page document obtained by Bloomberg News. “Iran needs to demonstrate it is prepared to negotiate seriously.”

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Iran's continued efforts to develop a nuclear weapons program "unacceptable" Tuesday and hinted at possible military action to stop it.

"This is an unacceptable, uh, path that they must, uh, stop or, uh, action will have to be taken," Clinton told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren, choosing her words carefully.

'Israel hit target on Syria-Lebanon border'

"Israeli forces have attacked a target on the Syrian-Lebanese border overnight," foreign and Arab media sources alleged Wednesday, saying that 12 IAF jets breached Lebanon's airspace on Tuesday.

The US-based Al-Monitor website quoted Lebanese sources as saying the target was a weapons convoy traveling near Syria’s border with Lebanon. The report has not been corroborated by any Israeli source and the IDF refused to comment on the matter.
