I think the REAL problem here hasn't been addressed.

Both Young Men and Women have become totally dysfunctional in relationships.

Why??? Brainwashing over the last 20-30 years by the media and the entertainment industry.

Young people have been taught to look upon the traditional family with disgust and disdain. Everything about your Mom or Dad or Grandparents was bad and is something to be avoided no matter what.

Even if your grandparents had a wonderful marriage and were together 50-60 years, it is looked upon as a bad thing.

If you aren't sexually promiscuous, you are mocked and made fun of. Young women are expected to have sex on the very first date and act like a porn star or the guy discards you and moves on to the next one...because that is our culture now.

Normal, loving relationships have been destroyed in our culture. There is no normal anymore.

Young people will never know or understand trust and intimacy..it is gone..over..

The healthy family unit has been destroyed..It is gone forever.

This is causing mental illness in both men and women because of unhealthy relationships that are not based on true love or mutual respect.

Been thinking about shocking news stories like this for a couple of years now.

Breaking up a relationship with a man is now so dangerous to women that a warning needs to be issued.

Men today will not accept rejection. They cannot deal with it.

They will retaliate not only against a woman, but against the couple's children, even against an innocent pet.

Restraining orders are USELESS!

There is a video going around of a man beating his ex-partner right in the room in the courthouse where she had come to obtain a restraining order. That video is so horrifying I will not even post it here. The attack was only stopped when a security bailiff watching a video feed from elsewhere in the building saw the situation and immediately responded, tasering the guy.

In this story, the woman took her two daughters away for a weekend outing at a lake, and returned home, which had been robbed - without forced entry.

Then the 9 year-old girl, who had thought their dog had been stolen also, found the cutie dead in the microwave oven, which had been turned on to fry her pet.

Who did this? An ex-boyfriend, and there was a restraining order. But the police cannot charge the man, because there is not enough evidence.

Even high school boys strike out with violence when a "romance" goes sour.

The tipping point has been reached.

Online dating is quicksand.

Casual hook-ups can quickly become toxic.

I believe the cause is male emotional and financial insecurity, coupled with the mental deterioration generally which is afflicting so many because of bad reactions to chemicals and various prescription drugs.

Men-Women relationships are no longer safe.

At any speed.

Solution: Long, long, long engagements.

And NO premarital sex.

NO premarital sex....including what used to be called 'necking'. 'foreplay,' and only BJ's.

Please take this seriously, and spread the word -- to protect your sisters, friends, and even your mothers.

I think the majority of those replying in this Thread really do get it - although the pessimism is distressing.

Once we all know the risks out there, men as well as women, obviously, we can cautiously forge real relationships by educating potential spouses, who are ready to listen and who are teachable.

The rest should be avoided by a wide margin.

What I find interesting is that there are lots of posts like this, by men complaining about women, sometimes several per day. And yet, someone posts an alternative perspective, with some articles to back up their opinion, and he gets flamed.

When stressed, women tend to implode (harming self) and men tend to explode (harming others.)Obviously, not all men are bad. Not all women are bad. But whereas women might do more psychological damage, men endanger women's physical lives more often.

I think that is the point the OP is perhaps making. You can recover from hurt feelings but you can't recover from being dead.

It serves no one to blow up the difficulties of a few people and turn that into a blame for an entire group.

Most of our current social problems may very well come from that kind of thinking.

Men have not become psychotic. A few have. Not all of them.

Women have not become evil and heartless. A few have, but not all of them.

Painting with too broad a brush is easy to to, but always incorrect.

I have seen and heard of 10 times as many crazy women as men. I don't have a single older male friend who at some point didn't have to deal with slashed tires, keyed vehicles, destroyed clothes, broken things in the house, and yes even knife attacks by girlfriends or ex girlfriends (and in several instances loaded guns being pointed at them).

Many women out there become just "bat shit crazy" when they don't get there way in a relationship, sometimes they do even if they get their way.

Thankfully in my case I have only had to deal with property destruction and B&E issues ... but when one starts to date a woman one can never be sure if she is one is going to be one of those that becomes like Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction".
