Had a sheriff knock on my door a few months ago and ask if I was so and so, which is not my name...so he verified the address and then said the clerk must have made a mistake and thanked me for my time...so I have to assume that these people are refusing to answer the door and cussing at the cops for them to have to bust down the door to serve papers.

Based on what? That you answered the door when a cop came, so someone else must not have?

It may depend or whether or not the people inside can verify that the people demanding entry are really the police or some nut pretending to be police. In a small town, it's relatively easy, but I can see how it would be more difficult in a large city.

Every "police brutality" video I see is always the result of some idiot resisting, fighting, and mouthing off, this is probably no different.

Brief, something tells me you would not go quietly if someone falsely accused and detained you for something you didn't do wrong ... just a hunch

I have very good lawyers, I wouldn't give the cops a reason to use force, I'd take care of it in court where it belongs.

Sounds like a PR campaign to show the efficacy of the local swat team.
Also sounds like the cops are too scared to do their
jobs unless they use overwhelming force.

I can only think it was a threat of gun violence.

The officers were executing a search warrant looking for evidence of who made anonymous Internet posts threatening the Evansville Police Department only to learn after the forced entry that the posts were not made from inside the house in the 600 block of East Powell Avenue.

Police later arrested Derrick Murray, a suspected local gang leader who lived nearby in his mother’s house. He admitted in federal court earlier this month that he used his smartphone to connect to a wireless Internet router in Milan’s house and post the threats. Access to the router connection was not protected by a password.

BRIEF would be all fucked up if it was a BLACK Cop who knocked on his door....

I had the police called on me, well several times, but once a black cop responded to the call and asked me if I pointed my weapon at the fool that threatened me. I asked him what he would do if someone walked up to you and told you they were going to kick your ass. He said I'd ready my weapon...I said well that's exactly what I did. So upon my request he gave the person a no trespassing order and escorted them off my property.
