Brief, something tells me you would not go quietly if someone falsely accused and detained you for something you didn't do wrong ... just a hunch  I have very good lawyers, I wouldn't give the cops a reason to use force, I'd take care of it in court where it belongs. Sadly we don't. But in my way of thinking, if you are a law abiding citizen, you shouldn't need one ???? Well, shouldn't need uninsured motorist as a rider on my car insurance policy either, but shit happens and it's because of all the idiots out there...
