The numbers released by the Internet giant show that law enforcement officials in the United States made 8,438 data requests over the second half of 2012, a 6 percent increase from the first six months of the year. Such requests have risen by more than 85 percent since 2010. Of the governmental requests, Google says that it complies with about 89 percent, and 68 percent are made without a search warrant. “It happens to Americans all the time,” writes Elliot S. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 21445996 01/30/2013 06:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You fools. If you use a smaller search engine like DuckDuckGo, or startpage, then you've signed your own death warrant. Shills try to direct the "crazies" to these smaller search engines (which are all monitored by the way), because now they have all the so-called "whack jobs" concentrated in one area, and are much easier to monitor. It is way harder to monitor Google, because there are literally millions of searches a minute going, which makes it that much harder for the government to track. If you use a small site, with less people, you become more exposed. By using Google, you become a needle in the hay stack. Here's a perfect comparison. If you live a big city, it is harder for the government to point you out, because of the big population. However, if you live in a small rural area, it is much easier to spot you. What have you got to hide anyway? What have you got to lose? This entire site is filled with paranoid mental midgets! Grow a pair, and live hard! |

I create or fund a website like startpage, or any other smaller less commercialized website. I go an promote this website on websites like GLP, I implant the notion of fear into the commoner. I tell them, use startpage, they don't track you! It is private and anonymous. The people that are most likely to use startpage, are those that have something to hide. The people that have nothing to hide, or who simply don't give a shit about who's tracking them, will continue to use Google. Now that I've got all these paranoid nutjobs using startpage, I can really dig dirt up on them, because now that they are using startpage, the more likely they will feel more confident. The paranoid user: "I can search anything I want now, because I'm using startpage and not Google". The more paranoid you are, the more you have to hide, the more likely you will draw attention to yourself, and it's when you draw attention to yourself which ultimately seals your fate! |

Are you paranoid about your own thoughts? It's those who act paranoid who draw attention. If you stand by your convictions, no matter how controversial they may seem, you will never draw attention to yourself. Confident people have nothing to hide. Here's the danger of labeling someone crazy, it is all based on arbitrary notions. Crazy to me, may be normal to you, and vice versa. You can label evil easily, because most people can agree on what is evil, and what is good. But the majority cannot agree on what is "crazy", or what is "normal". |
