T minus 5 minutes!!!

I believe this is a TDRS launch. Tracking and Data Relay Satellites relay data to and from manned spacecraft in low earth orbit including ISS (and previously the space shuttle).

Thanks. I was initially thinking the time right now was 9:24 not 8:24. Feels like it's an hour later tonight than it really is.

That's a good question. I have no idea. Wonder if the United States would let that sucker fly directly over Washington DC

The sad thing is, rocket technology is a joke. We have electrogravitic technology, at least since the 60s. If you don't believe me I'll take you out to Groom Lake and you can watch for yourself.

NASA = cover story for the masses. Look at it's budget, it's miniscule.

T+plus 60 seconds. One minute into the ascent of NASA's latest communications satellite atop the 19-story-tall Atlas 5 rocket, bound for a geosynchronous transfer orbit tonight.

T+plus 2 minutes, 20 seconds. Atlas now weighs half of what it did at liftoff.
