Invoking Archangel Michael During Sleep Paralysis

I've been dealing with sleep paralysis and encountering negative entities during the experience over the last five years since I had my spiritual awakening. I've found the most effective methods of dealing with them to be: ignoring them, showing them love which drives them off, and uttering the name Jesus Christ also tends to make them get lost (although I am not a Christian).

Anyways, a few nights ago I was visiting my soon to be mother-in-law's home. She is your typical 'Christian' who nevertheless dabbles in new age material as well. Anyways, being bored as hell like always my fiance and I found some of her Angel Oracle cards. We screwed around for about an hour giving each other readings on trivial things. After we had finished I decided to do one more reading. I wanted to know what the cards had to say about a particular episode of sleep paralysis I encountered some weeks earlier.

I chose my three cards from the spread:

1) Signs- The first card read "signs". The pamphlet said something about looking out for signs and that this card itself may be a sign. Alright, give me something I can work with...

2) Guardian Angel: The second card read "Guardian Angel". Basically stating that there is a guardian angel protecting me in the matter at hand and I should seek this angel out.

3) Archangel Michael- The last card of the spread mentioned Archangel Michael as a protector against the negative forces in one's life.

So all together the cards tell me this is a sign, to identify my guardian angel, and finally that this angel is Archangel Michael. A pretty good reading for a skeptic.

Now, to the real matter at hand. Several nights ago I had a series of nightmares which were terrible culminating in sleep paralysis. I awoke (a false awakening into another dream) in my dark bedroom and could sense the demonic entity. I looked down to the foot of my bed and the entity slowly pulled the covers off me and onto the floor. Then it attacked and began to feed off my fear. My mind thought back to the Angel Card reading so I said the following:

"Archangel Michael, remove from me all negative entities, attachments, and demonic forces" upon saying this I felt an incredible surge of blue energy flow up out of my chest. The energy felt good, not in the pleasurable sense, but in the sense of peace. The energy filled me and my room. My fear turned to courage. I then looked at the shadow figure and said: "I command you to leave in the name of Archangel Michael." And the thing took off.

Then I woke up for real. I invoked Archangel Michael once more just in case and went back to sleep feeling completely protected. I transitioned directly into a Lucid Dream where I was flying. I flew above the ocean and glanced at the crystal waters and coral reefs. I then flew above the clouds and marveled at the curvature of the Earth.

I would appreciate any additional information, first-hand or otherwise, on Archangel Michael. Most of the material online is either scripture-based or fluffy new-age ramblings so something of an esoteric or occult nature would be a great help.
