He's not bringing in an illegal, this is the proper legal procedure for bringing a fiance to the United States, it's a lot of paperwork and is costly, I assure you! The OP deserves kudos for doing this the proper way, and not just bringing his fiancee to the US and her overstaying her visa. Believe it or not, that is what many illegals are, tourists who have overstayed their visas or come through on photo-substituted passports, in the past. |

Keep your chin up and do your duty by reassuring her. It's red tape, but more than that it is a life challenge. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19712778 press on. It will be fine. oh , so do you know anyone that has had to go through this process and what was there outcome ? My sister works for DHS/immigration. As long as you live her, know her and have some sort of history with her, you'll be fine. If the things I've mentioned are not true get an immigration lawyer and rehearse you story with some kind of documentation. I agree with what you said, at this stage though, proving they have lived together is not necessary. They do need to present other proof of relationship, but the majority of that is submitted to the USCIS with the I-129F petition (done already by OP). Fake marriages are always suspect by the USCIS. By the time the I-751 is to be filed to lift conditions on permanent resident status within the two year time frame required after marriage, if interview and evidence is not sufficient that they have been living together as man and wife (rent/mortgage info and/or deed, shared bank accounts, shared assets), they might be called in to a Stokes interview. A Stokes is a more stringent interview reserved for those where there is a real question as to the validity of the marriage. If it is not a legitimate marriage, the couple is caught. There would be nothing an attorney could do to avert that, and it would be unethical for an attorney to do so. An attorney can accompany the couple, but the couple must state the truth. |

What have you been through? Whatever it is it is nothing compared to what you are about to go through with your filipino purchase. She will leave you as soon as she can. I am reminded of that as*hole that blew up the Federal building in Oklahoma. He also bought a Filipina and she was pregnant with her Filipino boyfriends baby. Have fun with the mess you are about to get yourself into. |
