Wow, documentary about the Tsunami survivors... pretty graphic from a human perspective.. TRULY worth a watch...

Some of these stories are how people survived, and what happened at the moment... rare footage put together at the time of the calamity (for those that don't have time to watch)

Re: Wow, documentary about the Tsunami survivors... pretty graphic from a human perspective.. TRULY worth a watch...
Someone else posted the correct word...compelling.
This is the best video I've seen so far on the
Japan tragedy....and of course, the sadness is that
they are still very much in harms way.

If a person were to watch this video living on
a coastline of the U.S.A....I would hope that it
would be "compelling" enough for them to move inland.
I lived on the coastline of Oregon--they just had a
big quake off of Bandon Oregon this week. I moved
mainly because of the tsunami danger and watching
this video I am very glad that I did so!
Good find, OP thanks for this information--I hope
that it helps coastal folks move inland!
Cheers!

Great video.. if you check PBS and Nova and Frontline they both have documentaries on Fukishima and the Earthquake and Tsunami. There is a pretty good movie out now called The Impossible about the Indonesian Tsunami. I do not think it can be emphasized enough how devastating the Japan Earthquake was. The Fukishima problem will kill countless amounts of people both in the US and Japan.

This topic is important to watch for we see the vast difficulty of dealing with some kinds of weather disaster as well as the humanitarian issues in them. Because bad weather can produce a disaster in any nations at any time, prepping is an important means of not only helping yourself, but also helping your neighbors.

Recently there's a ton of topics of extremely low worth. It's good to see it balance out with ones like this one.

excellent documentary..... Survival stories were emotional. Especially the re-telling of the pensioners home (elderly/disabled) and the unknown heros of the day. Many people that sacrificed their own life to save another.

I agree with the earller comment of this vid being 'compelling' ....perfect one word summary

I remember that day, the breaking news and so much footage that wasnt on youtube. There was video from a helicopter, on an overpass of some sort lookig down at the situation, where there was an ambulance and emts attempting cpr on someone, bodies off to the side and the stretcher, and the blue tarp that is usually used to hide people so others cant look was cast off to the side. This was just a few seconds long, and then in my opinion the cameraman realized what he was looking at and quickly switched to anything but that, yet i think the tsunami was rght there at that moment.

i watched the dsicussion on the various channels about fukushima, wih experts and pictures, graphics etc, the plan to vent. Seeing a nuclear reactor building(s) top explode really drove the point of meltdown. Radioacive water leaking, partial melt through at the least. The people who kept working there, saving so much by doing anything they could.

We arent done seeing tsunamis and 8+ magnitude quakes yet. There is the zone that goes from Tokyo to Kyushu, and there is The Cascadia region which has been very silent.

I also remember that day and was stricken with awe. I felt so terrible for those people. They didn't even see it coming. I think I recall someone saying there where Christmas presents ploating everywhere. It's too bad where I live everything is so messed up. Someone gets shot they are automatically an actor, (and I am for the 2nd ammendment). Horrible disaster? All faked.... People just don't believe in anything anymore. It's a sad state of affairs.

I just watched a docu a couple of days ago about the 2004 tsunami. I appreciate you sharing, and I am sure it's moving, but I can't handle another depressing video right now or I might become suicidal. But now it's in my active threads if I built up the stomach for it. Unfathomable what people have had to go through.
