NY State laws just passed ban this type of mag. Did the law grandfather in any already owned magazines and guns? [link to open.nysenate.gov] PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF THE BILL: Provides an updated description of assault weapons; closes the loophole regarding the possession of large capacity ammunition devices before September 13, 1994; increases the criminal possession of an assault weapon and large capacity ammunition feeding device from a class D to a class B felony and increases penalties for the use, possession and sale of firearms. Creates the new crime of unlawful possession of a firearm upon school grounds in the first and second degrees. |

Did they take it the next morning after he had been locked up, so he looks unshaven, as well as mad? This is a clean-cut guy. Let's demonize him, says Bloomberg. |

If a magazine has a capacity between eight and 10, it would have to be retrofitted to only hold seven rounds." So how legit is this story? I checked and confirmed. Unless 30-round mags were already illegal in New York, he had every right to still have them until the year is up, right? |

Quoting: 13th-Century The cops searched his car, probably on a fishing expedition. They didn't find the gun. They found the magazines. So he was arrested for having ammunition in his car? What kind of crap has been going on in NY anyways? Watertown is a rural area. Can't find it at the moment but yesterday I read in another thread here that the magazines were EMPTY. [link to www.gofundme.com] On Sunday January 6th he was arrested for possession of five, 30 round empty magazines that he believed were pre-ban magazines when he purchased them. |
