The Ruby Ridge incident's decline into mayhem had little to do with "negotiations" - not to mention Randy being set up and goaded into doing something he had many times expressed he had no interest in.

Specifically, referring to Mrs. Weaver and the child - you can thank that piece of garbage Lon Horiuchi for that - he was the shooter that took Mr. Weaver's wife and child. He was also at the Waco event, just for the record.

Last I saw of him - he was being paid to endorse various pieces of shooting hardware.

Randy Weaver lost his freedom temporarily and his family permanently - Lon Horiuchi is still making money. Tell me no one else sees something wrong with this picture? Tell me this was all worth enforcing some arbitrary stupidity surrounding an extra half-inch off of a shotgun barrel.

Sorry for the OT rant OP. Just because this happened ~20 years ago doesn't mean it should be forgotten, nor should we forget how much the government has grown and how evil they have become in the interim.
