Have some advil ready on the night stand. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6525360 One of the more odd things I've found to help is pickle juice. It's got a lot of minerals, salt and goodies. Don't take painkillers like Advil, Tylenol, or even aspirin when your liver is processing alcohol...it fucks with the metabolism of alcohol and can cause damage. Nuke the Muzzies! | Anonymous Coward User ID: 33548721 02/02/2013 10:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have Ruskie blood (vodka runs through it). Dad and brother all battled alcoholism. I've had my run-ins. Drinking shots as I write. I'm old. In surprisingly good shape for how old I am. That aside.... Here is one of my, ahem.... secrets.... After the last downing.... and before retiring to sleep or pass out..... A couple benadryl.... or any generic.... diphenhydramine hydrachloride.... and a couple of UNBUFFERED aspirins.... these are the absolute cheapest you can find... as in Dollar Tree.... nothing in the way between that aspirin and your system. These Are Golden. There is still some dehydration. Sometimes some morning fatigue. But nothing like what would transpire without this trick. If possible, a couple of shots the next day (if not going to work or something deemed critical) and danged spiffy good to go. Take It From An Old Man Drinker. Have plenty of water by your bedside. When you wake up, hydrate. When you wake up to piss... piss... and hydrate. That's about the beginning and end of it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32407784 Besides, of course, not drinking on not so super Sunday. ![]() Medically, nothing. Water and time are about it. yeah, water and minerals. Salt and vitamins. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 33548721 02/02/2013 10:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | nothing can cure a hangover, not all the water you can drink, or any food. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33392237 It's not worth it, stop drinking at 3-4 beers, any more than that is poison. Easier said than done though, but alcohol is dangerous. I used to drink a 12 pack a day for years. I quit because I was sick of feeling like crap all the time. I have no desire to drink again. When someone gets sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, that's the beginning of the end for a chronic drinking problem. Anybody who has been there will attest to: The time spent procuring. The time spent drinking to attain the drunken state... which takes more and more as time goes by... for less and less result... The time spent, "enjoying," the drunken state.... And the time spent recuperating from the drunken state. After a bit it dawns how much a waste of time... and hence of life itself... the entire cycle has become... is. All the things that needed to be done, need to be done.... that don't get done... coupled with feeling lousy. Yep. Getting sick and tired of being sick and tired in regard to the drug that is alcohol is indeed a good thing. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 33548721 02/02/2013 10:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And if you wanta' get, "exotic," in vanquishing hangover.... An I.V. to hydrate, an oxygen tank to be good to your brain and internal organs.... Yep. Otherwise, the thinks I wrote the best I've found. The fatty foods others have mentioned help if there is still some alcohol that hasn't yet been absorbed.... that's what they are good for. Now, I'll tell you about me. I had three heart attacks in three weeks last decade. A stress test indicated the damage done. I put myself on a program. Every now and again I'll run vodka as a solvent in the tubes.... coupled with L Lysine (google Linus Pauling), vitamin C, CQ-10, and kyushin (a frog... sometimes referred to as a toad) venom. After 6 years of doing this from time to time I went back to organized medicine. A different doctor. More detailed testing, including among other things, more comprehensive stress test, imaging, and ultrasound. No evidence of heart damage or vascular problems. There. I REEEEAlly gave you something here... and do note... it is strictly anecdotal, as in worked for me, and is not in any shape or form intended as advice for anybody else. Kyushin is getting harder and harder to get. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 33548721 02/02/2013 11:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just took a pellet of kyushin.... And they are tiny compared to pills in the western battery. The Nitro pills did a danged good job of alleviating intense chest pain on the spot for a bit... with attendant really shitty headaches.... Naw..... once the, "heart/vascular thing," is tamed to having a handle on it, a kyushin under the tongue is much gentler.... and much, much longer lasting. A progression from point A to point B to point C. You see... the drinking has rhyme and reason for me. Disciplined flushing out the tubes IN CONJUNCTION with those things I posted. I thought I'd never, "drink," again. Funny how that worked out. Any way, don't feel so bad if you drink..... with the following in mind: If you feel so bad, look at the psychology.... your own. And if you feel bad physically on a regular basis, reeeeaaaallly take a good look..... |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 33548721 02/02/2013 11:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good News P.S. Just because I've mentioned all this.... It is a Very Rare occurrence, chest pain these days. Used to be a couple times daily. Very rarely now... and not intense.... I'd put it at maybe once a month for a very mild thing that is easily handled. So who said alcohol can't be, "good," for you. Devil's Advocate. Everybody, I hope, knows better. In my case, what used to be a bane has become, with judicious and well-timed, timely usage in conjunction with other things, a boon. I'd A Never Thought It. |

Ever since the CorporaPhuques started feeding chickens (dead and ground) to chickens salmonella is a danger in the eggs. Akin to the phuques who fed/feed dead ("staggers," allowed still these days) beef cattle to.... beef cattle.... Soylent Green would, without stringent processing (maybe there will be) result in kuru in human consumers of such.... |
