The pastor is an idiot. The pastor was referring to giving 10% of TOTAL earnings to God. The pastor was not being asked to give 18% of his total earnings to the place.
The server gets 18% of the bill, not 18% of the pastors total earnings.

I can't say anything about this woman that hasn't been pointed out already. What kills me is that most people don't realize their tip doesn't go to only the waitress. A lot of places require the server to tip out a percentage of their tips for the host, bus boys, and sometimes the bartender. She fucked more than just the waitress, when her problem should have been taken up on the corporate level. When you ring in people's meals, you ring it in by seat number, which is how food runners know who gets what when they bring your food and drinks out. Once 8 seats have food rung in, the 18% gets put on by the computer, not the server.
It was a $7 tip, wasn't it? Fuck her. Christians are their own worst enemy. "I can be an asshole, as long as it's in the name of GOD!"

You are an idiot. I have more than enough money to go out to eat every single day. That has absolutely nothing to do with the waitstaff. The Waitstaff does not "take care of me". (I have not even discussed the overall poor service that I have received....and to have the "gall" to EXPECT a certain percentage of the total...wow) Most waitstaff only have two more duties than a McDonalds' worker. Making sure that my cup is filled with water over a 30-60 minute period is worth $2...nothing more. Not to mention the other 4-6 tables that the waiter is waiting on who will probably pay the same or more over the same length of time. $2 X 4 = $8 an hour $2 X 5 = $10 an hour $2 X 6 = $12 an hour That ^^^ is more than enough. If you want more money, then leave the industry. As a customer, I am not concerned with pitying the waitstaff because the owners pay them so little. I am concerned about my food. Why can't you understand this? I will make sure you get dirty silverware and a dirty cup and that I drop the ice scoop on the floor and make you wait an extra 10 minutes on the bill and another 10 to get your change. The dude next to you will be in and out quickly because he chose to do the right thing. We are not called SERVERS for the fun of of it dipshit. Next time you sit at a table run your hand across it. You will know if your server deserves her 15%.
