| Anonymous Coward User ID: 33288026 02/01/2013 09:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | why we need 30 round clips; Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33443012 not that the gun grabbers will 'get it', but they keep saying nobody can answer this, so; 1. the bad guys have them, so we should too, so we will not be out-gunned. 2. many gunfights last only a few seconds, then it is all over, all bullets expended, with one or both dead, or bad guy flees to avoid death, in way less than a minute. there is LITERALLY NO TIME to reload, what you have in the gun is all you get to use. 3. reloading will get you killed. while reloading, you are vulnerable. they know this, and they will listen for it. it is the sound of no bullets being fired. they will try to kill you at that time. putting in a fully loaded SPARE clip is fast, LOADING an empty clip takes WAY too much time. better to have what you need, in the clip and ready to go, when you need it. this is why cops, army, secret service, dea, customs, cia, fbi, etc, all carry these 'high capacity clips'. 4. shooting at someone, helps to prevent them from acurately aiming at you, and killing you. 5. there may be multiple intruders. 6. intruders may have bullet proof vests. 7. you might shoot the intruder, but hit him in a non vital spot, therefore, he is still able to shoot you. 8. you might not be the best shot in the world, so it takes you more bullets to get the job done. 9. many low level criminals do not carry lots of extra ammo, as they might need to ditch the gun in a hurry, before the crime, and they plan to ditch it after the crime, anyway, to get rid of the evidence. having the edge on the number of bullets, greatly increases your chances of living. 10. ten bullets, 'a reasonable first step'. piers morgan said many times that limiting clip size to 10 rounds was 'a reasonable first step'; so; what is the 'second step' ???? revolvers only, only 6 shots ?? what is the 'third step' ???? bolt action, fire one shot, then reload one bullet ?? 11. bad guys can use doorways, corners, etc., for cover, making them hard to hit. 12. when seconds count, the cops are MINUTES away. 13. if it is not a short gunfight, it will be a long one, and that is where it is really is important to not run out of bullets. . WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY; you have to 'baby proof' your house, locking all the dangerous things away, so the baby will be safe, as it moves around freely. THAT IS WHAT 'GUN CONTROL' IS; only for PSYCHOS. they want to make the entire country safe for the FUCKING PSYCHOS to WALK FREELY AMONG US. INSTEAD OF LOCKING UP THE PSYCHOS, WE HAVE 'FREE RANGE' PSYCHOS. the doctor just gives them a prescription for a bottle of pills, and sends them on their way, with no guarantee they will take the pills, or that the pill is even the RIGHT pill for what ails him. yeah but you are forgetting most people are really darn stupid and only learn the hard way, through experience. so until they experience why this may be necessary, no amount of words or information or facts will reach them |

Yes Does it matter what it's called? Yes, if you are trying to help the cause. ^^ This [link to en.wikipedia.org] Not to be confused with Magazine (firearms). A clip is a device that is used to store multiple rounds of ammunition together as a unit, ready for insertion into the magazine or cylinder of a firearm. This speeds up the process of loading and reloading the firearm as several rounds can be loaded at once, rather than one round being loaded at a time. Several different types of clips exist, most of which are made of inexpensive metal stampings that are designed to be disposable, though they are often re-used. |

Yes Does it matter what it's called? Yes, if you are trying to help the cause. Was going to say the same thing +10 I am a long time gun owner and gun enthusiast, I generally only use the term magazine when referring to a magazine. However I try not to worry about the misused terminology. In terms of the colloquial vernacular of the american, 'clip' is a widely acceptable word when referring to any magazine or device holding ammunition. 'I know what I know, and who am I to blow against the wind.' |

You do know that there is no blood test or other standard method for figuring out if a person is psycho right? You know that only a "professional" can decide if you are a psycho right? Why outlaw guns when you can label everybody psychos and make it illegal for them to own guns? You get more control by incorporating changes and strict mandates on mental health than you do with gun control. A nice method of control is to turn popular opinion against a group, pass legislation against that group then make everyone part of that group. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1018225 there is a part of the brain that is necessary to feel empathy / sympathy for other people. psychos DO NOT HAVE THIS PART. THEY ARE BRAIN DAMMAGED. a m.r.i. or cat scan is all that is needed to make this determination. in all these mass killings, there were teachers, classmates, and even parents who knew there was 'something odd' about the shooters. there is no good option currently available for a parent who fears his / her psychopathic child. the police will do nothing untill a crime is commited. |

It isn't a clip, it's a magazine. That's not a fetus, it's an unborn person. Why all the hate and fear towards 3D printing? All of these articles recently making folks believe anyone can print a firearm at their desk. Not that simple. It's still not a very viable technology, despite the videos that attempt to prove otherwise. Stop perpetuating these unfounded fears. Hell, anyone with some ingenuity and tin snips can fashion crude magazines. Years ago I built a CNC mill (manual retrofit) for less than quality 3D printers go for today. I've used it to build 1911 frames and a functioning ak receiver, legally. Guns were manufactured long before the advent of 3D printing tech, and criminals know this. Source: mechanical engineer who has actually used this technology. |
