Things we wouldn't know/care about we can find in a matter of seconds, and major events that affect nothing more than a city block's worth now have repercussions all over the world. Get rid of the 24/7 news overload the population seems to want to ingest non stop, and people will start going outside more and interacting. It won't be me vs. you just because you think differently on a topic anymore. For fucks sake, WAKE UP FOLKS. |

Probably not the way things are going. Most of the young people I know, they don't have life skills that would help them if the system collapsed. I very much doubt that they'll become old geezers. Some will around my region. You can bet on it. Some of the permies folks will too. We'll all be raising food and hanging out, while the rest will be starving. Why not think about rejecting this life that you loathe and embrace an affirming life? The Earth gives us blessings of wild edibles because God created them. Life begets life. Stop worshiping death and sabotaging yourselves. "Stay with your friends and never be alone" was the advice we knew well enough to follow, back in the day. Sure there were creeps around, then, and there were tragedies too. Often, the local outrageous incidents were not printed as newspaper stories - you had to know the people personally to hear about it and know what happened. Myself and everyone I knew: we all had our tales of close calls with predatory weirdos or gangs to act out around a campfire away from the ears of the elders. Yet years after the incidents (when it was now safe to tell of them to our parents without the risk of being sequestered in the house for safety) we heard their own similar tales from their own young times - as did I. But now these days, who could have ever predicted the streets and meadows and summer playgrounds being empty of children playing outdoors on their own? Now, they're all in fenced backyards and supervised at town pools and lessons and teams and YMCA and planned play dates if they're not screenside at home indoors. It is what it is and the trend is not for the better. The best we can do for the kids is to be there for them as they play - sitting out in the fresh air with them. |

[link to docsouth.unc.edu] About one-third of the people of North Carolina are suffering with Hookworm disease and consider their trouble due to some other disease. Hookworm disease frequently causes headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, paleness, easily tired out in feet and legs, poor appetite for breakfast, indigestion, heartburn, stunted growth, and poor progress in school work on account of poor memory. If you have had ground itch or dew poison you should be examined, as this is the first sign of the disease. It takes about one drop of blood daily to feed each worm Canada looks like it has less hookworm. Don't step in dog shit or its remnants. This will avoid the situation. duncog2012 |

Although, USA always had a separate church and state, those people did get welfare (handouts) people had abortions and then died because of them. So i guess you're left with Gays. Gays ruined america. You can't fault your thinking. And that kind of thinking makes the USA as great ass it is today. There have always been gays. It's the politicians who ruined our country. |

By propounding into the consciousness of the dark races, that for centuries they have been oppressed by the whites, we can move them to the program of the communist party. In America, we will aim for subtle victory. While inflaming the Negro minority against the whites, we will instill in the whites a guilt-complex for their exploitation of the Negroes. We will aid the Negroes to rise to prominence in every walk of life, in the professions, and in the world of sports and entertainment. With this prestige, the Negro will be able to intermarry with the whites and begin a process which will deliver America to our cause." |

Two radio stations. Three TV stations. Stores closed at six and on Sunday. My childhood was filled with funerals of farmers and kids being pulled into tractor PTOs, crushed in hay barns, kicked by cows, falling off horses, electrocution by faulty wiring, etc. most of the adults i knew had some kind of injury, dismemberment , brain injury....people aged quickly and grew hardened and wizened. there was a high incident of incest, some of it generational. The work was very hard, no time for anything else really. I was under constant pressure to conform to the dominant Christian religion. It felt like communism to me. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33377622 I agree with your assessment. Humans PRETEND that everything is FINE(fucked up, insecure, neurotic and emotional). Things were just as bad back then it was just that no one talked about it. Now it is on prime time TV and we pretend it's fiction. Humanity needs to deal with its shadow side or we are doomed or we may be doomed anyway. I am serious no one wants to talk about anything dark they just want to pretend that it does not exist or is fiction when in reality we live it everyday. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28903961 Kids were out in the sun all day getting all the vitamin D and fresh air. They played hard and sweat hard. All the impurities came out in their sweat. People don't sweat today, which is why there's so much disease today. Very few people had cancer or any other fatal disease in those days. Good food, fresh air -- all that's needed for a healthy body. |
