Quoting: Lisa*Lisa We don't celebrate or participate in any holidays......at all. However, I don't look down on those who do choose to participate. It's a personal matter between each person and the Lord. that is really interesting. Is it? yeah i find it to be. choosing not to participate in the pagan aspects i would almost expect. but nothing at all caught me by suprise. I thank Jesus everyday for everything that He did for me. |

Romans 12:2 "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." The Gospel of Thomas says "Be passersby" and "He who has found the world; has found a corpse" This is just a part of my worship, not to participate in these activities. I dont' vote either, never have and never will. But, at the same time, I realize that most do participate, and I don't judge others. It's a personal matter for each person. |

Could be accurate, or not. But, we are nearing the end, that is for sure. It captured my attention enough to put it up and share it with others who are interested. Quoting: Lisa*Lisa [snip] As with everything in the bible, there is a lesser and greater fulfillment. Creation in 6 days in Genesis mirrors the building of God's Kingdom over the last 6000 years. The 7th day Sabbath in Genesis mirrors the 1000 year millennial reign of Christ at the end of the 6000 years of creation, which is just about here now. We are nearing the end of the 6000 years of creation now, and getting ready to enter into the millennial reign of Christ, the greater fulfillment of the 7th day Sabbath with Jesus ruling the earth for 1000 years. I have a problem with the bolded part, as not much of the Kingdom of God ("on earth as it is in heaven") has been built in the last 6,000 years. The real building will commence during the millennial reign, as I read Scripture. We become like that to which we are devoted. - Choose wisely. |

[link to www.youtube.com] I've been on this forum for many years. I recall a time when everyone was talking about a great, female, freedom fighter, named Destiny, who some psychic predicted would allegedly arise in the future and save the day. Countless threads were made discussing the topic. During this time, multiple posters came out of the woodwork all claiming to be Destiny. Many of them were deadly serious, too, truly believing this "prophecy" was about them. Is it really any surprise that multiple people throughout history would claim to be the Messiah who was promised to humanity by God at the beginning of time? Even in our day, we had Sun Myung Moon claiming to be the Messiah. The only one who came at the right time (as per the timeline given in the Old Testament prophecies) was Jesus. |

I just can't get past the whole Indian massacre and genocide part.....I feel like the traditional holiday story is a big lie.
