Re: Are divorced Christians condemned to hell?
Issa stayed in Tibet til he was 28 yrs old
then left for Alexandria Egypt to find his
half sister Selene (Mary Magdelena) who was
also Cleopatra's younger daughter to help him
regain his rightful throne of Egypt. Issa
was a Ptolemy King by birthright.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33459291

this is exactly why Issa kissed
Mary Magdelina on the lips, because
she was Issa's half sister.
They were family.

And exactly why Peter claimed that Issa
loved Mariam more than the rest of his
followers.

and exactly why the Romans left the
Gospel of Mariam (Mary) out of the Roman Bible
at the Council of Nicaea,
because it did not fit the Messiah
story. The fact that Issa was indeed
Cessarian would have ruined the whole
immaculate conception from God scenario.

Issa did not marry his half sister Mariam
as Dan Brown implies, but he did marry
a Hebrew tribe woman in Tibet and
had a son at age 54.

Utter nonsense Greatest I am.

You know, I have no problem with anyone worshiping in whatever way they chose. In your case, you misrepresent yourself, and so some poor guilt-ridden Christian shows up thinking that this is a Christian topic. Obviously it's not!

You're just a liar who likes condeming people to hell. How pathetic.

The abortion that you're purporting to be Gnostic teaching is so far from Gnostic thought. So basically you're demonstrating that you really don't have a clue as to what Gnostics believe.

What a complete jerk. What kind of sadistic idiot derives pleasure from the suffering of others? I guess that makes you brothers with Hitler.

There are only 2 Biblical reasons for divorce, adultery and death of the spouse.
 Quoting: anonymous 6712304

Do you think that just?

What if a wife has a husband who beats the hell out of her twice a week.

Would you advise her not to divorce and would you think it just to condemn her to hell for marrying another as scriptures do?

The answer under this empirical view can only be in black and white; someone, somewhere clings to ancient words, penned by ancient men in lieu of the realities life brings. People kill, maim, torture, and commit atrocious acts based on an inordinate object, a book, which book? The right book...so cover your eyes, ears, and mouths and by all means continue reading while the world around you collapses...because what you think you know will save you and never mind that if your eyes were open, you could have just simply stepped out of harms way or intervened to help another out of harms way, but the book says they are bad, did something wrong to deserve this treatment, therefore feel justified to cast stones but be careful not to destroy your glass houses!

Well. That genocidal God of the bible condemned his own son Jesus to death for the forgiveness of sin when he could have found some other moral way so I do not see much safety there is in being his son.

I'm surprised you fuss about heaven and hell so much as there are no such judgments for the chosen in the OT.
Clearly you are an OT follower, and not a NT follower for you focus on the ritualistic and mechanistic nature of religion based on fear and not the true emotional desire to improve oneself and ones surroundings to be shared for the love of a loving god. For you, and those like you it's far more important to have the appearance of piety and adherance to rules and ritual than the actual intent to overcome human limitations and seek the heart and intent of god.
No deity worth the name would intentionally create a line in order to simply destroy that which is not at least enjoined in a dialogue when earnestly requested.
One cannot know what is right and what is wrong when there is no clarification in a malestrom of contradictory and intentionally deceptive information.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1310640

I do not follow the bible at all.
I just use it to stimulate discussions and to correct foolish Christians.

Why? -----Thanks for asking. Smile.

It is my view that all literalists and fundamentals hurt all of us who are moral religionists as well as those who do not believe. They all hurt their parent religions and everyone else who has a belief or not. They make us all into laughing stocks and should rethink their position. There is a Godhead but not the God of talking animals, genocidal floods and retribution. Beliefs in fantasy, miracles and magic are evil.

They also do much harm to their own.

The talking animals and fanciful stories are all in the OT, Jesus' teachings have none of that, and if you listen his teachings suggest that none of that matters, it's the judeochristians that fuss about monkeys and floods etc, seeking some form of worldly validation for what should be decided not from geology but from the improvement of the only activity not found in nature, sincere concern for the lives others who are also the wayward children of god.
Most religions rationalize and justify the natural urges and given the variations and width and breadth of them all, that should tell you the truth probably lies in the opposite direction.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1310640

True that most of the fantasy, miracles and magic are in the O T but without those, the N T would also be worthless.

Forget not that in it God had to covet another man's woman for inappropriate reproduction and then became a dead beat da by taking off.

That bible God is a prick in both testaments.

Issa (Jesus) was Buddhist.
He only became the Christ
because Romans wrote about
him that way for an earthly
agenda of servitude from the
masses who would believe the
lies the Romans wrote about him.

This is exactly why scriptures
say you have to believe by faith
without proof.

because in reality, there is no
proof of their fictitious account
of Issa's life.

parts of his life were hidden/erased,
parts of his life were fabricated and
parts were left out. All for a Roman
Agenda which still exists today
when you devote yourself to a Roman
doctrine and pay your taxes to the
IRS which is owned by the Vatican
(Rome).

the Roman Empire never fell, it just
morphed into a financial whore that
sucks the life out of every living thing.

all I offer is the truth
as I have found it to be
by many years of research.

I think Jack Nicholson was right
when he said

"You can't handle the truth"

because the actual truth would shatter
your religious paradigm.

maybe this is why the Vatican never reveals
the truth as it would cause world anarchy
if that system was disengaged as a platform
for world morality even if they know the
Bible to be false.

Are divorced Christians condemned to hell?

One of God’s main rules is on divorce and his policy is ---- let no man put asunder.
[link to bibleapps.com]

IOW, there are no excuses for divorce and it is a sin to do it.

This view is enforced by Jesus and he chastised Moses for adding terms for divorce.

Divorced Christians, ---- statistics show up to 60% of all Christians, ---- are thus living in sin and I wondered if Christians thought that they were condemned because of their choice to divorce.

If you are a divorced Christian, do you think God’s policy just and if not, why do you remain a condemned Christian?

Matthew 19:1-11

King James Version (KJV)

"And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;"

"And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there."

"The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?"

"And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,"

"And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?"

"Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

"They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?"

"He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so."

"And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery."

"His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry."

"But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given."

Re: Are divorced Christians condemned to hell?
3 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]”

4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”[d]

9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[g]

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

John Testifies Again About Jesus

22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized. 24 (This was before John was put in prison.) 25 An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”

27 To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30 He must become greater; I must become less.”[h]

31 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. 33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

You're so silly. You know you argue only because secretly when you're scared you desperately want God to save you. But to get that, you'd have to admit that you're wrong. So you see it's only your intransigence that's preventing God's love.

You won't get any condemnation from me. I only want you to find peace and love. I'm not one of those fire and brimstone sorts. Nope. Jesus didn't teach that. He only spoke about it once in a parable about Lazarus.

I hope you get to meet Jesus some day. Despite your professed unbelief, Jesus knows that you do believe.

God is full of grace. Jesus paid the price for our sins. We turn to Him with a repentant (repent means to turn around, to agree with God).
When anyone, no matter what their sins have been, turns to Him with a repentant heart (sincerely seeking His acceptance), it follows that a repentant person will love God enough to live a life pleasing and acceptable to Him.
When you truly love Him, then you "receive the love of the truth so as to be saved." When you love someone, you want to be with that person...you want to know all you can learn about that person.... When you have a book written by that Person, then you would want to spend a lot of your time exploring it and finding out the mind of that person... (in God's case, Person). Repentance and salvation means agreeing with God...how can you agree, unless you read and research just what He is saying to us?
To love someone is to be in fellowship, in nearness, in agreement with that person....in God's case, you want to search His instructions and learn how to live successfully and righteously. Heaven will be filled with people who are divorced, and they turn to God and live a life in love with Him.

First you must no longer be afraid of your sins being revealed. That's why you cannot find Jesus.

If you had actually read what I posted, especially:
"20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God." John3: 20-21

Then you'd be able to feel the Presence of Yeshua any time you wished. It's up to you. Can you admit your sins? Why don't you pray right now, tell God your sins, admit your unbelief, ask God to forgive you. Stop being afraid.

Why do you think it is that some of these false prophets have so much red karma? They spend all their time preaching hate!

Is that what the Gnostic texts teach? Of course not!

I don't agree with any of the Gnostic texts, but that doesn't mean I have read some of them. They aren't full of hate.

The people of GLP, they can tell when somone is being false. That's why you have red karma. All that insincerity, all those awful evil things you say. All the petty cruelties.

There's tons of people here of all kinds of spirituality. People don't red them out, do they?

So you folks with high red marks, look in the mirror. Ask yourself, "Why am I being so evil? Why do I hate people?"

Fix yourselves before comdemning others.

Then you'd be able to feel the Presence of Yeshua any time you wished.
 Quoting: Don'tBeAfraid

Yeshua was never his name,
His name was Issa.
Yeshua was a Hebrew translated name
given to him 40 yrs after Issa was
buried.

but thanks for playing :)

That's silly. Where is your documentation to show that Gnostic texts were written prior to the Hebrew and Greek texts?

If you can't believe in Yeshua, then how can Yeshua help you?

Issa is not Yeshua. That's just illogical.I know you want to believe it, and yet, I also know that you wouldn't bother arguing unless this was important to you. If it wasn't, then you'd just ignore it.

If you read the sermon on the mount. Jesus seems to clearly say the only way God will recognize devorce is if your spouse cheated on you. Any other reason and God still see's you as married. So, it appears you would be committing adultry the rest of your life...even if you remarried.

If you want to be religious about it you are comiting adultry even when you look upon a woman in lust! Our only answer is unconditional Grace and Full Pardon from all sins ... Future and Past!

The Victory has been won for all mankind through Jesus Christ Great Sacrifice.Ask Jesus Himself what He thinks about you, it is all favorable..... JESUS CAME TO SAVE SINNERS, JESUS WANTS US ALL TO SIMPLY REPENT AND FOLLOW HIM TO FORGIVENESS BEYOND OUR HUMAN IMAGINATION....... Really falling in love with Jesus Christ is that simple, we come to Him with our brokenness and He makes our old life (self) go away and The New You as a son of God desires to grow toward Him .....not turning away in shame.
Time is getting very short for all humanity and we have found drawing closer to Jesus day by day is a very good place of heart to be anchored in the coming storm.
