Anonymous Coward User ID: 926747 United States 02/01/2013 03:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The pictures aren't a big deal and her Jailbait reference was about right. (She was distancing herself from someone, without being offensive. Fair enough.) Admitting she had pot in her car at school? Not so smart. My guess is she won't be coming back. |
Lucky Charms User ID: 15882155 Ireland 02/01/2013 03:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She seems like a fun, slightly mental girl and I do kind of feel sorry for her but also kinda don't because she should have seen this coming. Unfortunately what should be and what is are never the same thing. What should be... a fun, slightly mental girl can have some jollies online without shit hitting the fan. What is... her job involves kids, everybody goes apeshit. Sometimes you have to be aware of "what is" and use that amazing human ability to calculate and predict consequences. So either she failed to calculate and predict consequences or she didn't care... neither is going to go down well with the public if your job involves kids. Fair or unfair is irrelevant, that's just the reality of the situation. Last Edited by Lucky Charms on 02/01/2013 03:37 PM 'Magically Delicious' |

These stories make me sad because most of us are really dedicated professionals. And you never hear stories giving kudos to us: the real, devoted, hard-working ones who hang in there year after year. We knock ourselves out making things good for these kids, getting them excited about learning, helping them to feel they are worthwhile and have a chance to reach their dreams. We believe in them, but few believe in us. Every week it seems have more and more initiatives heaped on us by the administrators and out of touch "coordinators" who feel we are doing a crappy job. Many of them have not even been in a classroom for twenty freaking years. Yet they think they can tell us how to become better teachers. What a crock of shit. Then they lambast us and cut us to ribbons for "doing too much this" and "doing not enough that" nit picking our lessons relentlessly, picking on us for every freaking detail--all the while changing the "rules" each school year with often stupid and even seemingly contradictory goals and ideologies. Yet, we care and we want to improve and do a better job. I see colleagues who NEVER stop striving. And they don't need the "whip" of Central Office (or the board of education) to do that. We do it because we WANT TO BE BETTER FOR OUR STUDENTS. We do endless internet searches for ideas and inspiration to bring to our classrooms, we work with colleagues to breathe new life into a lesson, we put in countless hours learning technology that may help us better reach our students. Many of us stay late EVERY SINGLE DAY and then bring home work and work late into the night. I brought home crates of student work to grade. Spent my own money on supplies for a project that some of my poor students could not afford, and some of my super-rich students' parents are simply too busy to go buy. And summers? Hah! Summers for me are simply the time I use to PLAN NEW LESSONS. You think I'm lounging by the pool? Think again. I'm sweating how I'm going to pay my next round of bills and in the next breath working on how I can better inspire YOUR CHILD the next school year. Is this making sense? I put my HEART into this job and I will say that for all the crap I put up with there is ONE REASON and ONE REASON only I stay...those kids. I love them, I cry for them, and I'll put up with any major crap my supervisors put on me FOR THEM. I would even take a bullet for them. Seriously. I just had to rant a little. It's been a hard week, but thankfully many of my kids actually THANKED me when they left my class. So I'm in on Monday morning and all set to do it again! :) |

Quoting: Ladydoom Students have come out in support of a teacher who was suspended from her job after she posted half-naked photos of herself on Twitter and joked about teenager being 'jail bait'. Other messages suggested that the teacher was grading papers while under the influence of drugs and spending time on Twitter 'instead of being productive' during the school day. In one post allegedly referring to a student, McKinney wrote: 'Just got called Ms McCutie. Point for being clever, however you are still jailbait.' [link to www.dailymail.co.uk] That page didnt show the real photos which they showed on the evening news, It was pretty graphic. Everyone in the room with me was kinda stunned they showed it on tv. They had to blur out a lot She was upside down with most of her ass cheeks in the air in a few shots and showing off her breasts in another. |

I know several teachers... It goes something like this... You will be a model citizen of this community. You are employed by the state of Kentucky, your image in class and outside of class in the community represents the school system by association. It is our goal to be a positive upstanding organization within the community, as an employee and associated representative of this School system. You will be held accountable for your lack of professionalism and your behavior. Im sure her school system has the same sort of agreement that she signed... I personally dont think there is anything wrong with a female scantly clad. I like seeing half naked chicks as much as anyone... hell I like seeing fully naked chicks! I have nothing against pot smokers... But I sure as fuck dont want a person with the mindset of a 14 year old rebellious teenager in charge of my children (if i had children) I wouldnt want to sit down to discuss my child's school studies with someone whose has this picture on their twitter [link to twitter.com (secure)] I want a professional! I dont want someone who leaves the school and uploads pictures like the one above... for my kids to see! If those pictures originated from before she became a professional... I could understand some injustice here... Cos many of us have made poor decisions before... but she knew it wasnt right... she knew it would go against the school policies... this was not an act of ignorance... it was a down right act of defiance! BANE her from being a professional she has failed... now im off to tweet her... [link to twitter.com (secure)] "Show us your tits" thats the only thing she's good at...
