Re: Share Your Fond Memories of GLP Addiction
One of my most fond glp moments was some years back in vc.

There was a rather colorful member called Starflame, he was always entertaining, anyway, he would mention now and again how he was sad that he lost contact with his son many many years ago and they had not had any contact since.

He revealed his sons name and a few of us in voice chat did a search and found him on facebook, sent him a message with a link back to vc.

Low and behold, this chap entered vc, he couldn't work out the settings to get the mic working but was typing away, it was in fact Starflames son.

Last I heard was that since that moment they have been in regular contact and now have a great father and son relationship.

I would have to say that was my most fond memory.

Those were exciting times! It was over half a decade ago now, which is crazy to think about. GLP, I can't quit you.

Re: Share Your Fond Memories of GLP Addiction
So what's your favorite GLP memory?

I've been here for 10 years... I remember when it was really new to me, really exciting, and the addiction was just beginning to coarse through my veins...

One thing I remember pretty clearly is the nervousness I'd feel when my PM inbox read "1 New". That feeling a socially awkward person gets when they step into a really crowded room and people start looking at them.

I would see that "1" and get butterflies. I'd think, "OMG. I'm in trouble. I've really done it now."

I don't get too many PMs even now as a mod, but I definitely never get that feeling anymore.

But I'm still addicted to GLP. What's up with that? Anybody else ever have an addiction this longstanding (that wasn't a substance)?

been on here since 2010 and have been addicted ever since I realized this place has all the "real" news literally hours before television or anywhere else online.

this place is my new home now.. and i'll never forget the information I have read on here

This. I remember how smug and vindicated I felt about telling my sister about the Haiti earthquake 20 minutes before it aired on CNN.

I've been addicted for about 5 years. My boyfriend gets mad at me for spending so much time "staring into the abyss".

It's coming down to a "me or GLP" scenario I'm afraid.

Damn, I hate looking for a new boyfriend.

You need to find someone who shares your interests and passions. Doesn't sound like the boyfriend does much more than cater to your sexual needs or perhaps open the occasional stuck jar. You're more complex than that, and you deserve someone who appreciates every aspect of you, including your need to discuss and investigate topics that are not dealt with in mainstream society.

I'm a heterosexual woman, by the way, so I'm not coming onto you. Just handing on some womanly advice.

Definitely choose GLP over the boyfriend.

hfGod led me to this forum , I had and have never been on a forum , in fact thought they were a waste of time and it was during my time with my brother that died, I was led here.
Many things happened to me during that time , my brother saw Heaven , Hell and Angels during his coma and before he died shared many things.

The first time I joined I made Trinity mad at me so he banned me, and the Lord convicted me , I have never been great at Politics , so on here I have leaned many things , even how to get green vs so much red, how to love people of different ways of thinking, how to be braver with authority in a good way.

I love this site and it is a great tool to spread many things, I always wanted to be a missionary , so God allows me to be a cyber one, and the red does not hurt so much, I look forward everyday I can post and share , I know I am at the mercy of many , and it can be taken away anytime, I love each day.

It also has become a part of my family and I take that serious so love to you all and thank you MO for posting this hf

I thank God for leading me and Trinity for allowing me here.

I have been here since "that lady" owned it. Was directed here when Nancy started zeta talk here. When you are here long enough you will be able to weed thru the bullshit and get to the good stuff. GLP is the best early warning news site on the web. If you are smart enough. I was a lurker till that turd human got put back into office. My fondest memory is the nasa insider days. He was posting from a US gov computer and outed several GLP posters as gov workers. Several are still here posting and running things.

Re: Share Your Fond Memories of GLP Addiction
I enjoy this forum, and I'd like to say thanks for keeping it up and allowing folks to visit, lurk/read along, and participate.

My favorite parts of the GLP experience are reading of breaking news from folks in the areas affected, first-hand accounts, etc.. I also enjoy reading what others have discovered or researched, and believe, on various topics.

One of the things that makes it all complete though, are the wacky nonsense threads that can really have some crazy posts and responses, as well as the totally unexpected goofy repsonses on 'serious' threads...those that make you laugh out loud. Thanks for allowing those and the nutty and sometimes off-color responses. Most places would block or remove those. It's one of the things that makes this place different, and allows folks to really say what they think and feel on issues.

I know sometimes my kids think I've totally lost it when I'm in here laughing at something I've read.

With all the crap going on these days, the bad news out there, it's good to have a place to vent as well as get a good laugh now and then.

I've been here since 2004. Most of that time was under another name that was somehow disabled...?

Anyway, I've been all over the World on vacations and before I had an Ipad I would go to the business office of any hotel I was at and check GLP, every single day, sometimes a few times a day. Then when I got an Ipad I was able to check without going to the business office

GLP is one of my favorites sites on the web! I'm addicted. I admit it.

Thanks, Trin!
