It just makes me angry that teachers, police, firemen, paramedics and such are expected to earn the same as the average .mc Donald's employee. Some times you bastards just piss me off!

If the government and government workers have their way, we'll all be slaves. There won't be professionals. They'll keep churning out slave service jobs.

The USA used to be a nation of the middle class with very good wages, high home ownership, investments, etc. Now we're probably more educated but have lost an enormous amount of jobs, and what replaced them were Walmart jobs. Great economics policy there! You can thank a government analyst for that abject domestic policy failure!

jesus christ wtf are you talking about. we did not replace educated jobs with manual labor jobs. Remember that whole manufacturing thing the US used to do... that was replaced with this lil thing called the service industry... and i dont mean drycleaning, i mean highly educated services. We replaced shit jobs with educated ones

Re: US Social Security Admin: More Than Half Of Wage Earners Make $30,000 or Less!
This is a great topic and a sore point after listening to Rush, Sean and Mitt complain over and over about half the people that pay NO income tax! That's right dumbfucks, even the US government feels sorry for you when you make this little so they don't make you pay income tax!

I used to make 82k but got cut to 41k on the next job after getting sacked. No big deal, we adapt. But at that rate, even using the standard deduction with 2 young children, taxable income is in the 20k range and a deduction or so more that you may be eligible put us at the ZERO tax rate! Not because we CHEAT like the rich boys, but because we make so little that we DO NOT QUALIFY for taxation!

It's INCOME tax Rush, Sean, Mitt. If you make shit for income, you pay shit for tax! Oh that's right, your accountants do your taxes, YOU wouldn't know. Get real.

Really, here's a link to Congressional Research Services. It details the huge loss in Service jobs by outsourving overseas.
[link to forbes.house.gov]
"Summary
Offshoring, also known as offshore outsourcing, is the term now being used to describe a practice
among companies located in the United States of contracting with businesses beyond U.S.
borders to perform services that would otherwise have been provided by in-house employees in
white-collar occupations (e.g., computer systems designers). The term is equally applicable to
U.S. firms offshoring the jobs of blue-collar workers on textile and auto assembly lines, for
example, which has been taking place for decades. The extension of offshoring from U.S.
manufacturers to service providers has heightened public policy concerns about the extent of job
loss and foregone employment opportunities among U.S. workers. This concern is especially
pertinent to policymakers because of a national unemployment rate persistently exceeding 9%
despite the end of the latest recession in June 2009. "

U.S. workers reportedly have become more concerned about the security of their jobs due to
increased global economic integration since the early 2000s. Offshore outsourcing, which is one
manifestation of globalization, is reported to have adversely affected the employment situations
of U.S. white-collar workers in information technology (IT) jobs (e.g., computer systems analysts
and software engineers) and IT-enabled jobs (e.g., telemarketers and accounting clerks). Data
from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Displaced Worker Survey nevertheless suggest that the
vulnerability to job loss of white-collar workers preceded the expansion of offshoring from jobs
in manufacturing industries to jobs in professional and business services, administrative support
services, and financial services industries. In addition, the data on displaced workers that include
the latest recession suggest that macroeconomic conditions rather than offshoring have likely
accounted for most of the increase in job losses in recent years. "

You see, this is what colleges are churning out these days. Pathetic. It's "genius" by the way...and thanks!
ROFL
LMAO
I'm starting to see why college students have trouble finding work. They can't write English!

Here's what it should read, "Yes, that's it! Because my grammar, punctuation, and capitalization are nonexistant, then that must mean he's working for the government as a spy. Holy shit, you're a genius!"

You know, it was not uncommon in 2000 for a "shitty manufacturing job" to pay 50K and benefits. What a sea change globalization has created.
Back then real estate prices were rising, and one could easily make a decent wage, invest back into the country, and maintain a good tax base.

Now, who knows? With so much artifical money supply and the Federal Reserve buying up government securities, it seems to me that we're having massive deflation of real estate coupled with massive inflation.

We are not creating new wealth. We are not creating a sustainable ecnomy. We are not providing jobs for the next generation. It will lead to chaos...and it's global, not an American issue.

The average American family only makes 54,000. That's pathetic based upon 2000 statistics. We've lost an enormous amount of the middle class.

I assure you, in general the people of the USA hold the people of Australia in high regard. If anything we envy the loveliness of your women, the wonderful beauty of your Land, your cultural history, and on and on.

All of our decisions matter, Greece proved that as well as Spain. Countries in the Middle East matter and of course the instability there.

The NWO globalists sold out the entire world for greed and they're collapsing the world economy. I guess in order to pick up the pieces in the aftermath. The only nation I see benefitting is China and that won't last long since the movement of manufacturing there is destroying the consumer base they have. Imagine a billion angry Chineses upset with their own rulers. They rose up once, not that long ago, and could still do it again.

Hardly. What I'd rather is people of his ilk would stop spouting government massaged data, especially on unemployment when we know it's massively high. It is undeniable that the USA economy is imploding. And to think that Royy is an young person in the pipeline in economics (or so he claims) and will likely affect USA domestical ecnomic policy. That's scary.

And this is what college is turning out these day????

When I was being educated in college and graduate school, we questioned the veracity of what we were hearing, and were taught to do independent research, and honed our critical thinking. Yes, there were the low-level folks merely shooting for the undergraduate degrees and in a hurry to find a job, but not all Americans sucked up the easy answers.

Now, I'm finding it more and more plausible that even the younger generation that should be taking my place and evaluating ideas...are merely becoming parrots of government statistics.

The most disturbing aspect is when someone claims to believe in Ron Paul, and then does the opposite of what he's discussing. That's why I assumed Royy was a government disinformation agent. Now, I think he's merely a moron.

Ron Paul will no doubt be remembered as a statesman who actually was honorable, self-sacrificing, and educated in not only medicine but economic policy. His loss is incalculable. It means less and less honest people in the Legislature who will actually read the bills that they enact into law.

I sincerely believe that a college education is a good thing. The problem is that most of the college students I encounter might have been best served by a trade school education had they been born in the 1990s. That's not available to them, for we have lost a huge portion of manufacturing jobs due to globalization and free trade. Then we outsourced a ton of service jobs, something I posted a pdf on. There really are no good jobs save in Nursing, Engineering, and working for the government.

The fact that some Nurses are having trouble finding employment when fresh out of school is alarming. In the USA, we've had a 40 year shortage of RNs. If they can't find work, that's scary, especially considering Obamacare and 45 million new patients.

There must be a curtailment of the growth of government, for the tax base is not there. This means a loss of new growth in government jobs. We know of course that the military is cutting back, and hence any defense related industries will also see cutbacks. Perhaps drone and surveillance tech and robots will continue to grow, but otherwise, I doubt it.

While our infrastructure is crumbling, and despite enormous lip service in the last eight years to boost the economy by construction and engineering jobs, it hasn't panned out.

What we should do, for the benefit of our respective nations, if ban free trade. If each country created their own items and services, then we wouldn't be in this mess. Then working people can purchase homes. We must try to put the genie of Free Trade back in the bottle.

In the USA, and now in Australia, there are oil reserves, and so we could do more domestic production and get away from Middle Eastern oilfields. In essence, if we cut off the purchase of their oil, those Muslim nations lack any other products save dates to pay for terrorism. They are too unstable, and it would behoove us to invest locally rather than in the Middle East. That sucks for Europe, but that's their problem.

It's not up to the USA to be a world policemen. It doesn't pay. It doesn't create wealth. In history, the only times a military paid was by plunder. Today, we plunder oil from the Middle East by helping corporations. We sell our armaments globally, and all this does is foment discord.

The USA needs to invest domestically. It's the only logical solution. It's that or eventual slavery and kowtowing to corporate masters.

Most young people have no common sense and zero ancestral skills. They can't build a fire and they can't hunt. How will they make it if they can't grow crops?

That diploma is only getting them a job waitressing, and that won't pay the loans off. Worse, they can't get enough hours to actually improve their situation enough to get benefits. Many college grads are working jobs that pay minimum wage and only by luck are getting tips. If that dries up, and it will because in a down economy people don't eat out as much, then they're screwed.

Minimum wage in the USA varies but is around $7.25. Waitressing pays half of that, because it's calculated that they make tips. No one can live on that, not without living with their mom and dad.

Yes, but the MSM tells us 'Happy Days Are Here Again!', what the fuck ever!

We have an 18 month supply of homes in this country and builders are churning out McMansions at a blistering pace, I mean big fuckin' ugly McMansions that at an average of $110 a square foot, and average square footage of 2600, means that the average home going up is $286K!

So, who is going to buy them? And that doesn't figure in the declining boomer population who are leaving McMansions as they take their hand basket ride to Hades!

Fucked, fucked, fucked.
