The Iranians are developing a sophistication in strategy which we have only seen Britain achieve. Their biggest drawback is Islam. A truly influential global power MUST rise above religion to truly grasp its foe and outwit him. I have my doubts that they have the capacity to truly become nominal in their religious afiliations (which Britain had become...it can both appear religious yet function at the cerebral level of objectivity) but I may be wrong.
