I'm continually awed by the number of views these thought proving threads of yours have Lisa. Many. Like really many.
A lot of people are searching!
 Quoting: 'LIL ANGEL

The reason people are replying is because they are angry.
It has nothing to do "provoking thought", unless that thought is anger.
This thread, like most religious threads here are to bait people into an argument without an end. And they know this, but insist on the argument. Whether it is out of boredom or what I don't care. It is wholly ridiculous and benefits nobody. So, yeah.
On the other hand, the church of the snake is seeking converts, so please join. We have psuedoscientists who've discovered a snake pattern in DNA. YouTube video coming soon!

If your argument is that Pal Pot would not have killed all those people if he was religious, instead of him just being a mad man- then how do you know? Hilter called himself Christian and he killed people... The Catholic Church killed huge amounts of people in the Crusades...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33138908

I'm sorry, I'm not going to bother with attempting to refute running-in-circles-screaming accusations.

Cite specifics.
For example, cite a Hitler quote where he aligned himself with Christian doctrine. You can't because he followed a made-up anti-Semitic fiction that called itself "Deutsche Christen", much the way Rev. Jeremiah Wright calls his organization "Christian".

Hint: You will find this challenge exceptionally difficult, because the assertion that "Hitler was a Christian" is a myth that atheists choose to believe, but anyone with any theological education knows is rubbish.

As for the Crusades, that was a political battle between political power structures which had nothing whatsoever to do with theology, the Bible, Christianity, or any other subject germane to this thread.
 Quoting: Professor Xavier

Ignorance is bliss isn't it? :)

According to Albert Speer's memoirs, Hilter did call himself a Christian.

"In Hitler-- Memoirs of a Confidant, Hitler reveals himself through conversation to colleagues from a conference on economic policy. In it Hitler is reported to have spoken, glowingly, about raising the "treasures of the living Christ," "the persecution of the true Christians and sanctimonious churches that have placed themselves between God and man and to turn away from the anti-Christian , smug individualism of the past," and "to educate the youth in particular in the spirit of those of Christ's words that we must interpret anew: love one another; be considerate of your fellow man; remember that each of you is not alone a creature of God, but that you are all brothers!" [Turner, Ch. 23]"

"Biographer John Toland explains Hitler's reason for exterminating the Jews:

Still a member in good standing of the Church of Rome despite detestation of its hierarchy, 'I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so,' he carried within him its teaching that the Jew was the killer of God. The extermination, therefore, could be done without a twinge of conscience since he was merely acting as the avenging hand of God-- so long as it was done impersonally, without cruelty.[Toland, p. 703]"

Nor can the Table-Talk be used to argue for an atheist Hitler:

"An uneducated man, on the other hand, runs the risk of going over to atheism (which is a return to the state of the animal)... Table-Talk [p. 59]

If Hitler was opposed to personal Christianity then why did he order his chief associates, including Goering and Goebbles, to remain members of the church? Hitler too, remained in the church until he died. [Speer, p. 95-96; Helmreich, p.220]

I thought Christians read a Bible which contains both the new and old testaments.
"White privilege" is the liberal religion's version of Original Sin: you are born guilty, and you carry that burden of guilt all your life, and the only way to escape eternal damnation is for white people confess their sin, to bow, kneel and believe the dogma of the Church of Liberalism, genuflect at its altars, honor its saints, fill the collection plate, and never, ever doubt.

Cause of the Crusades - "It is the will of God"
"When Jesus Christ summons you to his defence," exclaimed the eloquent pontiff, "let no base affection detain you in your homes; whoever will abandon his house, or his father, or his mother, or his wife, or his children, or his inheritance, for the sake of my name, shall be recompensed a hundred-fold, and possess life eternal." Here the enthusiasm of the vast assembly burst through every restraint. With one voice they cried, "Dieu le volt! Dieu le volt!" meaning "It is the will of God! It is the will of God!" Thousands immediately affixed the cross to their garments as a pledge of their sacred engagement to go forth to the rescue of the Holy Sepulchre. The fifteenth day of August of the following year (1096) was set for the departure of the expedition - the Crusades had begun.

This video proves absolutely nothing. These videos are all the same. They use great big complex explanations of things like cellular activity to try and make the point that this HAD to be a creation because it's just simply too complex for it to be evolution.

Btw, most fairy tales come from books, and the bible is no exception.

Actually, the Miller-Urey experiments do prove that compounds in the atmosphere could have reacted with heat and then rain would have brought these compounds into the ocean. There, the ocean providing a blanket against radiation allowed the development of multi-cellular organisms.

It isn't just a story OP. We all origination from LUCA( Last universal common ancestor). It is the reason why we share DNA with the other two domains.

It feels like this guy read the first 10 pages of the biology text book but completely ignored the other parts. This theory does actually have some scientific basis and you calling it a "fairytale" compared to a man in the sky who just made life is insulting.

As both religious and non religious regimes can be proven to have committed vast atrocities, it deduces that it is not any of these ideologies that are responsible for such genocides but the tyrannical desire of despots to push their ideologies onto others by force and even assassination. I am sure Lisa would be totally willing to kill sinners if the voices on her head suddenly told her to do so.

I'm sorry, I don't accept made-up bullshit as evidence, as I've already stated. You're going to have to at least pretend to understand the criteria for debate, even if you just copy and trace.

I said nothing about "religious or non-religious", I simply pointed out an example of applied atheism, an example that is far from unique.

You responded with an unsupported assertion and an ad hominem attack on the OP.

Would you like some further remedial instruction, or would you like to give up now and save us both a lot of wasted time?

What a lie.

The term "crusade" is derived from the French term for taking up the cross.

The term "crusade" is also used to describe religiously motivated campaigns conducted between 1100 and 1600 in territories outside the Levant[a] usually against pagans, heretics, and peoples under the ban of excommunication for a mixture of religious, economic, and political reasons.

The Crusades were a series of religious expeditionary wars blessed by Pope Urban II and the Catholic Church, with the stated goal of restoring Christian access to the holy places in and near Jerusalem.

So what? You seem to think that there is one pure Christianity that is the one which you believe, and the other ones don't count. Christianity has had plenty of offshoots and to an atheist they all stem from the same supernatural, bronze age primitive mystical assumptions.

And btw, there's plenty of justification for genocide in the old testament, yes those books which are included in your Christian bible and which are still the word of your god.

 Quoting: Professor Xavier

Just a quick heads up, but a question like this indicates that you are so dumb you are not even biologically capable of understanding the concept.

It's an incremental process that happens on a sub-cellular microscopic level.

Let's round off human DNA to 3 billion base pairs ranging across all chromosomes. Now if we (again, very broadly for the purpose of showing you the scope involved) estimate that a human body cell replicates itself once per day, and this human lives to be 80 years old.

Now lets estimate an error rate that in that process of copying 3 billion base pairs, there was 1 mistake.

That means that in 80 years, that cell will experience 30,000 copying errors, aka genetic variations.

So, out of 3 billion pairs, 30,000 errors per lifetime would represent a

0.001% change in that cells genetic makeup.

Now consider that a human offspring is the combination of two sets of DNA, which brings with it a pretty effecient process of error correction.

And now consider how long it's going to take to see a noticable difference in an organism.

You're dumb.

Re: EUKARYOTIC CELLS - A Devastating Blow For the Fairytale of Evolution
...

Ignorance is bliss isn't it? :)

According to Albert Speer's memoirs, Hilter did call himself a Christian.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33138908

If ignorance is bliss, you must be constantly in the throes of ecstasy.

I already addressed this with my initial cite, which you somehow managed to respond to without actually having read it.

"Deutsche Christen"

Look it up. For real this time, not just pretending.
 Quoting: Professor Xavier

You didn't even use my whole quote, that shows everything about your agenda.

I gave you Hitler's quotes about Christianity and you still deny it! You are SO close minded...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33138908

These are not only closed minded folks, but insane fanatics. They will distort anything to further cement their primitive middle eastern beliefs.

 Quoting: Professor Xavier

The Crusades is all the evidence we need of Christians killing in the name of God, this is a part of history and a repetitive act of religious extremism , the same that you guys condemn other religions for. You religions are all the same- close minded and thinking that "mine is THE one religion, everyone else is going to hell".
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33138908

:THISS:

I can't believe a religious person is dumb enough to argue that atheistic regimes are genocidal considering their own history. And Christianity is just one of the most recent religions, killing in the name of god has been going on from way before these folks came around.
 Quoting: Manu-Koelbren

Thank you for proving you are an idiot.

Atheist regimes kill their own - the Christian warriors of the Crusades killed the bad guys, i.e. the Islamists.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27237684

The Crusaders also killed dark skinned Christians, go do some research before posting

If your argument is that Pal Pot would not have killed all those people if he was religious, instead of him just being a mad man- then how do you know? Hilter called himself Christian and he killed people... The Catholic Church killed huge amounts of people in the Crusades...

Re: EUKARYOTIC CELLS - A Devastating Blow For the Fairytale of Evolution
Evolution is a time tested hypothesis that has stood its ground for over a 100 years now. Darwin made some predictions, later backed 100% by the discovery of DNA and genes, then backed upon more by fossils, dated accurately which show multiple species evolving to homo-sapien like facial features over time.

Now that said, ofcourse evolution as we understand it to day is not the whole picture, nothing in science is and that is the beauty of science, it embraces contradictions and new finds.

What a lie.

The term "crusade" is derived from the French term for taking up the cross.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33138908

What an idiot.

The term "petite mal" is the French term for orgasm (it means "little death"), so the French must die every time they climax.

How do you morons actually function in the real world with so little critical thought capability?

Do you think a Ford Mustang runs on grass?

You are so childish, ignorant and annoying:

Thus began the era of the Crusades, taken from the Latin word crux or cross
The Crusaders symbol was the cross

Re: EUKARYOTIC CELLS - A Devastating Blow For the Fairytale of Evolution
This video proves absolutely nothing. These videos are all the same. They use great big complex explanations of things like cellular activity to try and make the point that this HAD to be a creation because it's just simply too complex for it to be evolution.

Btw, most fairy tales come from books, and the bible is no exception.

Have YOU ever seen an atom with your OWN eyes? Have YOU ever seen an electron with your OWN eyes?

Have you proved for yourself with the same lab tests what you read in a science book?

If not, then YOU are believing what men wrote in a book ON FAITH.

So....

stfu

Your argument holds no weight....

You do experiments which prove the existence of such things...like idk..electric currents proving electrons????

That's not evolution, that's learning and adapting.
 Quoting: Tard

If some of the atheist evangelist posts on this thread are any indication, there's no proof of learning or adapting either.

You are a hypocrite.

1. I am not aitheist

2. Not all aithiests are sinners, wife beaters and child abusers as religious people like to believe

3. If you are going to "fight for God" you should not act like a complete asshole while doing it
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33138908

I'd rather be thought of as a hypocrit by a dimwit than thought of as "right on" by the same dimwit.

And I wasn't addressing you, tard.
Butt out.

Oh, and if you're going to "fight for God", or against Him, you should at least learn how to spell "atheist" correctly.

Lisa,

5* and pin! oh and I'll throw you some karma in there too! Speaking of, I saw what you did with user apiratewithadd, and I followed suite, thanks for being a kind and generous person. I love Jesus so much and I know worrying is a sin BUT, I have so many people that I care about that are going to hell because they don't believe in Jesus, much less that He came, died and rose on the third day FOR OUR SINS!
 Quoting: SavedByGrace7

Worrying is a 'sin' now?

You honestly believe your friends/family are going to 'hell' for not having the same beliefs as you?

Please seek help.
