Just wrote this!!! hope you enjoy! excuse the sexual imagery in the first couple lines, I didn't catch it until it was written, and then i thought oh well :-)

Knowitall

The softer I push,
The smoother it flows.
Like leaves on a bush,
‘Tis not me who knows.

'Tis not me who knows,
Why sky is so blue,
Why autumn wind blows,
Why to me came you.

I venture a guess:
It is as must be.
Yet still I confess,
There is more to see.

So follow me now,
We’ll swim in the sky.
We’ll dance and then bow,
Together we’ll die.

And when this has ended,
When the game is run through,
When all time is lended,
Let me fall into you.

There is one who knows,
Why His sky is blue,
Why autumn winds wail,
Why to me came you.

I do not command
The earth sun and moon.
Come, hold my hand,
We’ll know Him quite soon.

SANCTUM SANCTORUM

Beyond the veil in the Sanctum Sanctorum,
there is a face that she longs to touch.
In the innermost cube and the olivewood doors
The curtains hang like a bridal veil

There is his eyes which she longs to peer into
the cherubims wings spread wide, sits holy..
In this innermost room he waits...

When the veil is parted they will all see his face
The vanity of vanities is wise in his expression
Our King of Kings, and Lord of Lords,
The Scripture and logos has taken on flesh.

He purified himself as the High Priest
who secretly longed for his High Priestess
In a holy embrace they became one.

The Sanctum Sanctorum in reverential awe
The passions incomparable in the face of love
The Secret of the light is finaly revealed

Compassionate eyes will gaze down upon her..
The Face of God for all of time....
she had longed to caress.

Ok, I wrote one, I can't believe it. Never wrote a poem in my life, but you guys totally inspired me. Here goes

A child is born
of a Mom and a Dad
A sibling or three sprinkled in
A happy cupcake, don't we make?

A child is born
on a swoosh and a skate
No more a thought than
a crumb on a plate.

Pumping out joy and willing to wait
Hearts all a fire, anticipates desire
Befallen, whilst life fails to deliver
Not even a sliver.....of mirrored joy.

Eons later, no longer a hater
She beckons on the light
to shine forth from warm
center of centers-the never ending
sea of God's Holy Graces
 Quoting: Isis One

I want to thank you Doc and all of the other posters here. I haven't written anything in years. You guys with all of your creativity have gotten me inspired and I've been writing again, I would like to share with you the first poem I've written in about 15 years.

Welcome Home

Welcome home
The walls are black
Up on the mantle
Lie souls in a sack

Winds rush through branches
Of trees all dead
The way they move
It puts fear in your head

Welcome home
To the ashes of the past
All of your joy
Can no longer last

All of your love
Is now dead and gone
Memories all fade
The world has moved on

Welcome home
There is nothing here for you
Nowhere to run
Nothing you can do

This is it
You cant go on
The corpse of hope
Lies on your lawn

Welcome home
Take your last breath
Welcome home
I am death

It's not as good as a lot I've seen in this thread, still I'm happy with it and I'm even more happy to find that when I sit down to be creative I'm not staring at a blank screen or sheet of paper till I quit out of frustration.

Once again thank you all. hf
 Quoting: AgnosticDeity

This brought tears to my eyes and seems just as good as any other here. I am sooo glad you are feeling inspired. I also was inspired to write the first poem I've ever written, I couldn't believe it, its up just a couple posts from this comment.
 Quoting: Isis One

Thank you for your kind words. After reading your poem it is hard to believe that it is your first attempt at poetry. It is very soulful and the imagery is excellent.

I have to add that I don't envy Doc lol with all the Incredible submissions you've received your task will be quite difficult.

Thanks again for this wonderful thread and all of the great submissions. It is amazing all the talent that has been hiding in these forums. rockon

break free little one

tiny, brave, boat, in the cosmic sea

drift on solar winds

and ride the unseen currents

through the cold, chilly chasms of space between the stars

fear no tales of Babel's tower,

nor imaginary dogmas transgressed

break free

our only, lonely, messenger

break free, and see,

forever

What am I.

Fireworks, light shows, hatred and fear,
confusion, bemusement, no bravery here.

The battle ensues with casualties grand,
why the fuck are we here I don't understand.

I fight for no King, no Queen and no reason,
if I refuse I'm labeled and tried for treason.

I entered this stage with pride and with stealth,
yet am battered and bruised to add to their wealth.

The hate and the lies of it's them or it's us,
when all they want is us on a bus.

Corporate control and the finance it yields,
while I spill my guts on these battlefields.

Years after Lincoln yet I'm still a slave,
a slave to the system, a slave to the grave.

Those stars and those stripes through the horror still stood,
and the death of the enemy the reason it could.

A show and a game, and a means to an end,
our meat on a plate by the rules they can bend.

Manipulative control leaves me shocked to my core,
in this game they call the theatre of war.

Tomorrow I die with my banner in hand,
knowing the truth with my brothers I stand.

I fight for reasons wrong, tough this was to learn,
but when I venture home, NEVER WILL I TURN.

What am I?

Sir, I am a soldier Sir.

That was my input Acula, but hey, I don't want an upgrade so if I am chosen as a winner then give it to whom you feel should! Great thread, thx, ;) Ayr.

I wrote this last May 24, 2012........

To my son who would be 20

Little did we know - 20 years ago, today
Of the impact that your soul - Would have on our family.

Your bright eyes, huge smile and genuine love
Affected those who knew you, and would often rise above -

Me.

The number of lives you touched is far-reaching,
The tears that miss you, never ceasing.

To my son – who at 3 months of age said “I love you”, Who left us 1,485 days ago…..

Rest sweetly in the arms of our Father,
Who will reunite us soon, this I know!

Ode to Ares

Off to a titanic start
Grandson of Cronus and Rhea
Son of Godly incest
Between Zeus and Hera
You were born for unrest.

While it was yours to guard
Jason fleeced the golden hide
As your sleepless dragon slept
in a herbal haze outside...
Dad now thinks you’re inept!

When you backed the Trojans
Your sister ratted on you
Then she and Diomedes bled
You with a spear run through
So to Olympus you fled.

While you loved her
of Golden Apple fame,
Alectryon soundly snored
So now he lives in shame,
Crowing daybreak his reward

Of great strength and valour
Your impetuous affair
With the lovely Aphrodite
Whose features are so fair
Left you not so mighty.

To escape the Godly dissing
In Thrace you sought a haven.
Adored there by mortals still
Sacrificing maidens
To ensure they have your will.

Gone but not forgotten,
Your keepsake roams our sky
Though this Ram does not fight,
He’s employed by those who scry
The wandering stars at night.

Lover's watching love die

No amount of years
No amount of tears
I wish

I wish so much

That I just felt the love
Without feeling the fear

I wish so badly

Because without you
It feels that nothing is here

But feelings overflow
when you come nearhf

HIRAM ABIFF

Hiram Abiff, Glorious Sun, Pass thru the heavens,

From East to West,

the glory of the Sun, rises and sets.

Struggle from the three

desirous to steal the sacred knowledge you keep

Run to the east door of the Temple ! Run !

Let not the darkness overtake the Sun.

Bemoan thy tragedy as you fall upon the western side,

wail in grief at the passing of thy light,

The Grand Architect has been murdered in thy flight

Oh Great Sun.

We Remember the Temple, the Tempus of time

The House of God will always shine.

In Aprils vision you began,

Grand Master Architect of the plan.

Seven years later , the Temple stands !

Taurus of our Fathers grace and might,

sow the seed so harvest will not blight

Hiram our Sun , under Lions Paw brought to life !

Libra , Scorpio and Sagitarrius slays. You lie dead for three more days.

Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces sleeps in the winter deep

Rise O Hiram In Aries brow, The hill of equinox resurrects you now

Twisting in the wind just to feel it catch the corners of my mind,
Always amazed.

Laughing at myself when I think I know too much about what I find,
but never disappointed.

Craving the dreams that catch me by suprise when I'm flying blind,
Savoring the sensation.

Braving the storm of change about to crash upon all of human kind,
Trusting in GOD.

Descending into chaos with only the safety of truest love to bind,
Saving me.

I'm just singing along with the melody and rhythm inherent in the heart and soul of life.

Breaking the Fast

Seeping slowly,
awareness returns
into my body
a hunger yearns.

In mute silence,
my nose twitches,
in blind darkness,
my tongue flickers.

The slightest breeze
brushes my being,
a taste of breakfast
this zephyr’s bringing.

Gentle footfalls
vibrate my belly,
like feathers falling
on to jelly.

Oh so subtle,
coming closer,
breathing ceases,
heart beats slower.

Rapidly reaching
my open mouth meets
a mammals skin,
which death now greets.

Nerves that twitch
make it wriggle,
it’s now become
an internal tickle.

It tastes like life,
juicy and sweet,
from its nose
to silenced feet.

With flesh and bones,
my fast it breaks
With blood and tears,
my thirst it slakes.

I slither forward,
seeking sunlight
to bask in after
my long, long night.
"When your eyes are incapable of tears,
your ears lose their sensitivity,
your voice is unable to wound and
your feet are cleansed in the blood
of your heart, then you may stand
in the presence of your master."

I choose to believe in you,
Doubtless, the love I offer is true.
My heart would cast no shadow
To darken your path to me,
But burn as brightly as the sun
So that you can easily see
You will never have a fear
In loving me.

Time becomes a window
Through which I gaze,
And you become my world
Void of the cold and misty haze.
Filled with vivid colors
That come to life as you smile.
A world clearly visible through this window
Across every mile.

The rainbows that climb over the clouds
Are the memories we make each time we touch.
And the beautiful flowers that abound
In the gardens of our hearts
Are the kisses we so passionately share.

When you speak I hear sweet music
That lingers like a sensuous perfume.
When your eyes make love to me
I am lifted on that magic carpet
And transported to paradise,
Awake in reality not asleep in dreams.

A slender beam of light has touched my heart
And the music now fills my mind,
But the words are so hard to find.
I never thought I could be so blind.

All life is a jest if we seek not its' soul
And if we can leave behind what has gone before,
Then what lies ahead must surely mean more.
I truly must find what lies on the other shore.

Oft have I heard this beckoning call,
To gaze upon the ocean of my life
And to seek the calm that lies beneath the turgid strife.
To lay open my heart with loves knife.

Many times have I played with words,
Trying to make them say what I thought was right.
Only to find later that I had lost the fight
And in reality I had shed no light.

I know that I am a bit of a fool
To think that words can say it all,
When actions are what truly stand tall,
But are there no words that can save us from a fall?

The pain I sometimes feel
Should make me look deeper,
To hold tight to life´s keeper.
Instead at times it just makes me life´s weeper.

Surfing the glp, in my living room,
I suddenly hear a sonic boom,
So off to post, I do go,
To tell the world of what I know.
The sky is falling, I do decree
Now run for the caves, it's the only safe place to be!
So the danger has came and now has past,
I told you all, it would'nt last.
So leave that bunker, you're secret womb,
And go outside and forget the DOOM

As I stood there on the shore
And watched the surf roll in,
My mind was lost in wondering
About all the places I´ve been.
When suddenly my thoughts were set free

The Breeze that was playing with my hair,
The Breeze that was constantly blowing,
Is like time in its´ continuous flowing.
Carrying the sounds of laughter and of sorrow,
Of life and of death,
All on the same breath.

It can bring the sweet smell of a fragrant rose,
Or it can sweep clean in one mighty gust,
All of the treasures in which we falsely trust.
It can a pile mountain of memories at our feet,
Or erode a mountain of pain.
Some would let this drive them insane.

The Ocean that was cooling my feet,
The Ocean that was forever pounding the seashore,
Is like the dreams we live for.
The depth of which we can not fully know.
The end of which we cannot see.
Only the waves which touch the shore of reality.

Sailing on the ship of our thoughts,
Our dreams provide the means to reach a far off land,
Or caress our hearts with a gentle hand.
But if we sail too long on the sea of our dreams
We might be swallowed up and drown you see,
If we get caught in a storm of fantasy.

The Sun up above that warms my face,
The Sun up above that turns the sky blue,
Is like the hope that we all cling to.
Giving us a reason to care.
Giving us light so we might find the way,
To endure any sorrow that fate might make us pay.

As darkness would fall let us have no fear,
Not one thought of being lost in the night.
For the morning will always come and give us back our sight.
If we chart the right course through lifes maze,
The sunny sky above will always be fair,
Even when the wind and the ocean are no longer there.
One Truth.... many realities
