The Hook

a poem by RAC aka Saddletramp

Drifting over you, like the sands of time;
Invading tender reaches, a hands soft touch, enduring tastes so sublime…

This is the longing sigh from a needful mind.

The heart cries out, like a feather on the wind;
Soft veils of lace give way, a lingering breath on yearning skin…

This is the maddening touch of a lover’s hand.

For she belongs to him, but not him to her;
The eager quickening of her pulse, his hearts deafening purr…

This is the fools promise of love without allure.

Trapped here in this picture, this window in time;
Seeing, tasting, touching, feeling everything, two hearts entwine…

This is the fleeting moment of release so divine…

I came back to check on my post.

I've been drinking a bit.
And am feeling quite lit.
So GLP, I offer a toast.

This is Life

This is life.
We have but one.
What we do with it,
is decided by none.

This is life.
We all live it.
Why do we hate?
Why do we love?

This is life.
The question is why.
Nobody knows,
why we live or die.

This is life.
The question is who.
Everyone matters,
even me, even you.

This is life.
The question is what.
From your brain,
down to your gut.

This is life.
The question is where.
From over here,
to over there.

This is life.
The question is when.
The answer is always,
every now and zen.

This is life.

The retarded troll games you play,
Make me hope I get a chance,

The Question

A flower is held aloft by a pair of wise fingers
The teacher asks
What do you see?

I see metaphysical redemption's of organic balances listed by the attributes of macro cognizance ticked off by corollas as if time is karmic
As if knowing the unknowingness
Is in sense senseless
I see a cosmic sarcophagus that encompasses the entire ethereal world that we can not conceive nor liberate, a breath that has not been expressed per say
I see ameliorate in form in sense and smell
I see life
I see survival of the fittingness
I see love
I see a salvation
I see sensation exploited, a transient sense of for gone conclusion as compulsions simulate to lay in wait and venture simplicity
I see suckling mammillae
I see sensuality
I see repose of samples that make a whole symphony serenading silence and socialism
I see leprosy in shell form, a color in of its self but sill superimposed upon a blank synopsis that make no sense of sense and self or self merry being as if it has its true sense in the sense that sense makes sense in and of itself
I see sweeping changes in the western front
I see aliveness for what it is a product of consciousness that has performed its task and presented somebody as it is and shall be now but once picked it has no meaning so it is now vacuous
I see serenity
I see blessedness
I see bees that spite
I see things that ring as the butterfly licks the sticky or the hummingbird pokes its beak in to slurp the nectar
I see reaction force
equilibrium resistance
I see me
I see you
I see
I don’t see
Anything
“I” pronounces one pupil, scrunched up at the back of the mob of soundboxes
“Know what it is, it’s a fucking flower”
neglecting the blossom, it sinks,
The teacher rises
Ambling on

Winter to Spring:

‘Tis long in time, and time again,
Since one has heard the tale.
Summon strength, come God and men,
In time all must prevail.

‘Twas in the hour, of the day,
At waning of the year,
When wrought in power, one did say,
‘Hope, be gone, not near.’

And like the wind,
Through fields of grass,
Hope, it turned and fled.
And left all else to fight and sass,
‘Til all our fields were dead.

But one did see what one had done,
And why no flowers grew.
And so one said, “It has begun!”
One’s trumpet then one blew.

From mountain stream a light did gleam,
So too from forest and field.
Hearts of men, united again,
Came forth with sword and shield.

Together they stood, bound but by good,
In forest, field, city.
For see they could, 'twas well understood,
Evil grants no pity.

What they fought, they knew quite not,
The enemy came all the same.
And in the midst, of the fallen's list,
The foe did alas too lay slain.

muchas gracias! here's another:

Lady of the Sea

As she walked on, she came upon,
One looking out to sea.
‘Ask my dear’, he said with cheer,
‘Ask what you will of me.’

‘I will of you,’ she said straight to
The face as true as time.
‘That I may stay, far past this day,
With face as fair as mine.’

A blink, a wink, with fingers pink,
He snapped and so she filled,
With light, so bright, to her delight,
At once her age was stilled.

‘Tis true to say, that to this day,
On edge of turning tide;
One may see, in fits of glee,
The smile of Sea’s fair bride.

Around around, right left and down,
She flows just as she may.
If one does wish, upon a fish,
She’ll glide into one’s way.

Ok, I wrote one, I can't believe it. Never wrote a poem in my life, but you guys totally inspired me. Here goes

A child is born
of a Mom and a Dad
A sibling or three sprinkled in
A happy cupcake, don't we make?

A child is born
on a swoosh and a skate
No more a thought than
a crumb on a plate.

Pumping out joy and willing to wait
Hearts all a fire, anticipates desire
Befallen, whilst life fails to deliver
Not even a sliver.....of mirrored joy.

Eons later, no longer a hater
She beckons on the light
to shine forth from warm
center of centers-the never ending
sea of God's Holy Graces

Knowitall

The softer I push,
The smoother it flows.
Like leaves on a bush,
‘Tis not me who knows.

'Tis not me who knows,
Why sky is so blue,
Why autumn wind blows,
Why to me came you.

I venture a guess:
It is as must be.
Yet still I confess,
There is more to see.

So follow me now,
We’ll swim in the sky.
We’ll dance and then bow,
Together we’ll die.

And when this has ended,
When the game is run through,
When all time is lended,
Let me fall into you.

There is one who knows,
Why His sky is blue,
Why autumn winds wail,
Why to me came you.

I do not command
The earth sun and moon.
Come, hold my hand,
We’ll know Him quite soon.

THE SECOND CROSSING

I’m crossing the path of lone desperation,
With hopes to avoid its known web of tears;
Though burdened down still with passion’s grief, bearing
The loss of those pleasures my heart once held dear.

This loss has occurred, and its aspect is chilling…
It numbs the synapses of my fragile mind;
What mis’ry it wreaks as it freezes me stagnant;
What doom a heart cheated of true love, can find.

The road where I’m headed seems so hard to reach;
Though simply it leads to the best things in life;
A million hopes beckoning ten million dreams,
Stand powerless battling my poor spirit’s strife...

Unless, by some miraculous feat I encounter
A transfiguring smile sent to hasten my way,
Sent from regions celestial to lessen my burden…
A gift, from my doomed love, to brighten my day.

Perhaps, only then, will my sad soul be freed—
To be partnered, post death, to love’s rightful bliss;
His memory cherished, tho’ not suffocating
The future before me…that was his wish.

His hope was for life to continue with passion,
Yet, how can I do this when love has been rationed?

* * *

In some fairy-tale legend the hero might rescue
The fair maiden’s hand from some hideous foe;
This life I live warrants a similar act,
Yet, no sweet knight exists that can save me from woe.

Thus, I’m trapped on a journey from todays to tomorrows…
My only companions are sadness and pain;
The roads are quite jagged, made worse by my sorrow;
I suffer in silence while tears fall like rain.

And, I care not for pleasure, just seek to be freed
From this miserable path that makes my heart ache.
I long to be rescued as those idyllic maidens
Who exist for such act that some lone knight might take.

I exist for the masses, exist in lost passion...
Exist for the place where my sadness reposes...
And, die at the tolling of each moment’s rolling...
And, smile at the thorns that are covered with roses.

* * *

I live transient moments
Of half-hearted joy
Which are borne quite whole-hearted,
Yet, then are destroyed
By the passage of time as though minutes were hours,
And days are sheer lifetimes of turbulent desire--
Where nights turn to days that are calmer by aspect
Of solitude’s comfort...opposed to love’s fire.

Thus, such is my tale of anxiety’s rapture,
Where love is negated by love, that was captured
On wings light and lofty they rose, without effort,
Yet then, like the Phoenix, its essence transpired…
So sadly succumbing to fate’s damning fire.

* * *

I rise at the murmur of this day’s own longing,
Still conscious of yesterday’s heartache and pain,
I long for the bliss of that ephemeral passion…yet
Tomorrow is bound to hold sadness again.

At least in the domain of Morgan’s own madness
Where silence is deafening, and, fantasy’s knowing;
Where love still lies deeply, yet, so out of reach…
For love is yet futile, though love is still glowing.

* * *

I wonder if truth were introduced to this effort,
Would truth laugh for its error of riddled esteem?
Would truth grieve at it thusly? For, truth is not bound
To abide to the essence of love without liens.

Nay, ‘love’ born of passion is branded, forever,
Upon one’s pure heart, and, thus fulfills the rest;
My patience of being retreats ‘til time warrants
Fulfillment of passion, at time’s own request.

* * *

So, I’m crossing the path of my heart’s desperation,
With hope to extinguish its fire of tears;
While yet burdened down with passion’s grief, bearing
The loss of those pleasures my heart still holds dear.

devalued
currency?

I would be
pissed
but I ate
teh chip
on my shoulder
already

Not even sure
where to
file this

What social media
should I give
my cooties to?

It's like
the decoder ring
that I got
w/ my Cracker Jacks
was encrypted
by a handshake
known only
to those
whom it
parodies

I'm sure
this is supposed
to end
w/ some sort
of irony
but then
maybe
you're already
writing
the last line
& it will be
our little
secret.
"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe."

Cherish what is now
For its a special time
Find comfort in the thought
That what is yours is mine

Only in free men
Can the love be found to bind
With mercy and forgiveness
The lives of all mankind

Cherish what is now
Don't bother to look back
Treat every man a brother
White, yellow, red or black

Treat every man with justice
That which every man deserves
And you will be rewarded
With the freedom you'll preserve

This is Life

This is life.
We have but one.
What we do with it,
is decided by none.

This is life.
We all live it.
Why do we hate?
Why do we love?

This is life.
The question is why.
Nobody knows,
why we live or die.

This is life.
The question is who.
Everyone matters,
even me, even you.

This is life.
The question is what.
From your brain,
down to your gut.

This is life.
The question is where.
From over here,
to over there.

This is life.
The question is when.
The answer is always,
every now and zen.

This is life.

Why thank you CeeLite, I was starting to wonder if anybody had noticed.

I've always been quite fond of poetry, but I don't do it often enough. However, when I do, I put a lot of heart and soul into it. I'm glad it was appreciated.

that is pretty sad; it takes work to write a poem and all you offer for 2nd place is a deal that makes the person pay for your service - what frickkin' contest is that? you too cheap to offer 1st 2nd and 3rd prize? shame on you.

I do believe it's his contest.

His contest. His rules.

Be thankful for all that you get.
Life is too short, so have no regret.
If you have listened to all that I've said.
Then listen once more and give me some head.

I wrote this poem about Zakk back in 2004.

I thought I should share. He is clearly in a better place than he was then. hf

Sleeper

My friend likes to count numbers
Mistakes become patterns in his head
Its ok, he is not yet awake
Soon the shattered image will readjust

For him it doesn’t matter
Tomorrow is just another day
In an instant of so many others
With no memory

My friend is like a picture served in portions
Although none of them are the same
Set divided for a lone intention
Awaiting only words
A few distinct Phrases
